Florence McJury Underhill

Batavia - Florence McJury Underhill, 89, of Batavia, passed away Sunday, (September 30, 2018) at Crossroads House, in Batavia.

Mrs. Underhill was born December 20, 1928 in Seneca Falls, a daughter of the late Harold and Ruth (Williamson) Knapp.

Florence was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Batavia.  She enjoyed bingo, knitting, crocheting, and playing cards.  She loved spending time with her family, especially loving having all of her children together.   

She is the wife of the late Dean McJury and the late Theodore Underhill.  

Surviving are her children, Harold (Donna) McJury of Batavia, Donald (Karen) McJury of Holley, Arlene (Rickey) Underhill of Batavia, Margaret "Peg" (John "Sonny") Purcell of Batavia, Terry McJury of Medina, Kenneth McJury of Batavia, and Thomas (Selina) McJury of Batavia.  18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Florence is preceded in death by her sister, Catherine (late Peter) Schiavone.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main St., Batavia; where Florence’s Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, (October 3, 2018).  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossroads House, P.O.
