John L. Gawelko

  John L. Gawelko, 62, of Bliss passed away after a long illness on Wednesday September 26, 2018 at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo. He was born in Buffalo on August 18, 1956 to the late Chester and Frances (Kobukowski) Gawelko.

John was a United States Marine, Letter Carrier in Cheektowaga, NY and an electrical engineering technician at Servotronics in East Aurora. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved the outdoors. He will be remembered as a loving husband, good brother and a firm and loving father to Brandon. He was a good story teller, although to his friends he would tell you the truth even if you didn't want to hear it. After 22 years in Bliss, John said he didn't need to go to heaven, he was already there.

He is survived by his loving wife; Amy (Blair) Gawelko of Bliss; son Brandon (Tracy Quinn) Blair of Rochester; sister Linda (Donald) Sahlem of Akron.

There will be no prior calling hours and Services will be held privately for the family.
