Jean worked for many years at the Genesee County Nursing Home in Batavia where she was a part of a great group of colleagues, which she thought of like family. She was a parishioner at St. James Episcopal Church in Batavia and a lifetime member at Godfreys Pond. Jean loved living in the country with her daughter and son in law, being outside and watching the animals and above all else spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; Charles D. (Lisa Burns) Barnard Jr. and Kimberly (James) Ficarella of Batavia; sisters Marilyn (Don) Orlando Norse of FL., Mary Jo (George) Davis of Batavia; 2 grandchildren Samantha (Zach) Alwardt and Nicole (Shawn) Easton; 3 great-grandchildren Bryson, Brooklyn and Whitley, along with many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday February 6, 2020 from 4:00-7:00PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, New York 14020. An 11:00AM Funeral Service will be held on Friday February 7th at St. James Episcopal Church 405 E. Main St. in Batavia. Jean will be laid to rest in Grandview Cemetery.
