Batavia - Amy E. Guthrie, 58, of Batavia, passed away Monday, March 30, 2020, at United Memorial Medical Center.

Amy was born October 13, 1961, in Buffalo, a daughter of the late Stanley O. and Joan C. Eveleigh Waters.

A loving mother and grandmother, Amy loved to play cards especially pinochle and enjoyed word games. She loved to read and during the summer months she would often be found on her front porch with the radio on lost in a good book. She will be remembered by her family as being very creative and very involved in do-it-yourself projects. In her youth, she was active with the Boy Scouts of America and took pride in becoming a Boy Scout. Amy was a longtime employee at the Albion Correctional Facility.

She is survived by her children; Elizabeth (Edith) Waters of Austin, Texas, Mitchell Guthrie of Batavia, Jessica (Blake) Leddick of Batavia and James (Jessica) Maskell of Batavia; four grandchildren; Lukas Leddick, Bailey, Sophie and Collin Maskell; four brothers; Mark Waters of Florida, Lance (Margaret) Waters of Florida, Ray (Diane) Waters of Batavia and Andy Waters of Florida; her sister; Cynthia (late John) Ciszkowski of Blasdell along with several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her brother, Duff Waters.
