Joyce  A. Lund, 85, of Batavia, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Premier Genesee Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Joyce was born Tuesday, May 7, 1935 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Clyde and Ruth (Stone) Ray.

A member of the First United Methodist Church in Batavia, Joyce loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed going to craft shows, casinos and her trips to Florida, playing cards, games, family gatherings and the holidays.  She was a switchboard operator for Genesee Wyoming BOCES in Batavia.

Surviving are her husband, Franklin Lund of Batavia; children, Rodney (Lori) Lund of Byron, Randy (Nikki) Lund of Bristol, Rindy Walton of Ohio and Frank (Shirley) Lund, Jr. of Daytona Beach, FL; son-in-law, Doug (Nancy) Hensel of Oakfield, thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her daughter, Rhoda Hensel and a sister, Lois Boorom.  

Joyce's Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the First United Methodist Church in Batavia and she will be laid to rest in Grandview Cemetery, Batavia.

Batavia - Francis  "Fred" R.  Farrell, age 84, of Batavia,  owner and proprietor of Flint-Farrell Insurance Agency, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Farrell was born Saturday, February 1st, 1936 in Minersville, Pennsylvania a son of the late Joseph Farrell and Mildred Fischer Farrell.

A 1961 graduate of Penn State University, he was a member of  Resurrection Parish where he served as a Eucharistic minister and assisted on numerous funeral Masses for parishioners. He was a member of the American Legion Geneva Winnek Post No. 396 and volunteered his time at the Richmond Memorial Library and the Genesee County Tourism Booth. He proudly served his country from 1953-1957 with the United States Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Holland Farrell. They were married on October 7, 1961. Fred is also survived by his children;  Joseph (Kristine) Farrell of San Diego, California, Robert Farrell of Hamlin, Mary (Tom) DiFilippo of Albion, Michael Farrell  of San Diego, California and Daniel (Leslie) Farrell of San Diego, California; ten grandchildren; Taylor Farrell, Jenna (Matthew) DiFilippo, Nicholas DiFilippo, Christopher and Levi Farrell, Morgaine Farrell, Ryann Farrell, Corey (Matthew) Scarborough and Sienna and Kai Rosa; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

 He is predeceased by his son, Thomas F. Farrell and his siblings; James, Joseph, Mary, Lillian, Rose, Ursula and Ruth.

There are no prior visiting hours. Batavia - David A. German was born June 11, 1942 to the late James and Helen DeLano German in Batavia died Friday, December 18, 2020 at ECMC in Buffalo as a result of a brain bleed two weeks prior. 

Dave retired in 1998 from Genesee County Highway Department as a Heavy Equipment Operator after working 30 years. Dave previously worked for DeWitt Concrete and Batavia Machine & Tool.  Dave enjoyed traveling and going to casinos with his wife.

Dave was predeceased by his wife of over 57 years, Marjorie, who died September 12, 2020. 

Dave is survived by his sons, Scott D. German of Batavia, Jeffery (Julie Amato) German and her daughter Holleyann Amato of Stafford and Michael C. German of Batavia, his dog Buster and grand dogs Zach, Bailey and Jake.  Dave was also survived by his sister Janet Brinkman of Batavia and his wife’s siblings Eugene “Jake” Boldt of Elba, Robert (Judy) Norton of Cumming GA, Beverly “Sis” Reamer of Maple Hill NC, Ellsworth “Chubby” (Carol) Norton Jr. of Elba, Joyce “Billie” (Ronald) Sixt of Punta Gorda FL and Linda Richenberg of Brockport, his sister-in-law Maureen German of TN and many nephews and nieces.

Dave was also predeceased by his brother James German and brothers in law Donald Brinkman, Charlie Norton, David Reamer, John Richenberg, Wayne Cole his sisters in law Susan Cole, Ellie Boldt, Josie Gualtieri Boldt, and his favorite dogs Poochie, Beaver, Teddy and Babe.

Ann Marie Kennedy, 86 of Batavia, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Batavia, the only child of J. Cole and Norma A. (Stahlbusch) Kennedy on February 25, 1934.

She graduated from Batavia High School in 1951 where she was active in the Chorister and the Choral Club.

Following graduation she commenced her life long nursing career at St. Jerome Hospital and completed it at Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester. She was a parishioner at Resurrection Parish in Batavia and St. John the Evangelist in Greece.

There will be no prior calling hours. A Service will be held in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum, Batavia on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 10:00 AM.
