Rosemary B. Givens

  Rosemary B. Givens, age 79 of Perry, New York passed away on Wednesday September 23, 2020 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born in Philadelphia, PA. on August 22, 1941, a daughter to the late Charles and Catherine G. (Lucas) Beschen. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by siblings: Patricia Widick, Charles and Richard Beschen.

Rosemary was a graduate of West Philadelphia Girls Catholic High School class of 1952 and received her associates degree at Pierce Junior College in Philadelphia. She started her work career at General Electric in Philadelphia, after moving to New York she worked for Morton Salt Co. in Silver Springs, later owning and operating the former Sears Catalog Store and JJ Newberry’s Variety Store both in Perry, and retired from the Wyoming County Community Hospital in 2001 where she was a medical receptionist.

Rosemary was a member of St. Immaculate Conception Church in Pavilion. A member of the Perry Garden Club and former member of the Tuesday Club. She enjoyed line dancing, gardening, doing various crafts, decorating her home and loved spending time with her sons and their family.

She is survived by her husband: Richard M. Givens whom she married on December 11, 1971, 2 sons: John (Jessica) Givens of Phelps, Mark (Bridget) Givens of Perry, 4 grandchildren: Mary, Matthew, Kara and Claire Givens, along with many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be announced at a later date. Rosemary will be laid to rest in Glenwood Cemetery in Perry.
