James V. Sheridan

LeRoy ~ James V. Sheridan, age 85, of St. Mark’s Street, passed away early Tuesday morning (August 17, 2021) at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

     He was born December 6, 1935 in Batavia, a son of the late Vincent and Helena Pree Sheridan.

     Jim was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and then went on to serve his country with the U S Army.  He will be remembered as very simple and loving brother, uncle and dear friend, who was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Parish and very devoted to his faith.  He enjoyed family gatherings and his annual trip to Virginia Beach.  Jim, who was also known as the “mayor” of St. Mark’s Street, was a lifetime member of the LeRoy Fire Department and the Western New York Fireman’s Association.

     He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews; Darlene (Robert) Penepent, Lewis (Ginger) Esten III, Theresa (Richard) Seiler, Charles Esten, Karen (Michael) Schad and Donna Esten; cousin, Donna (Robert) Powers, along with many dear friends.  He was predeceased by his sisters, Anna (Anthony) Marcello and Margaret (Lewis) Esten and niece, Mary Esten.

     A special thank you to all his neighbors on St. Mark’s Street for your kindness and friendship and to the staff at the LeRoy Village Green for their wonderful care of Uncle Jim.

     Family and friends may call on Saturday, August 21 from 12 ~ 2 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Rd. (Rt. 19), LeRoy, where his funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM.  Interment will be private in the Western New York National Cemetery in Pembroke.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the LeRoy Ambulance Service or the LeRoy Village Green Activities Fund.
