Verna R. Mullin

Batavia ~ Verna R. Mullin, age 89, of Richmond Avenue, passed away early Saturday morning (December 4, 2021) at the Erie County Medical Center.

     She was born December 10, 1931 in Bennington, a daughter of the late Raymond and Petronella Beller Schad.

     Verna will be lovingly remembered for her devotion to her family, her caring of others, long-term relationships and her gaming attitude.  Her career as a registered nurse spanned many years.  She was the pediatric head nurse at St. Jerome Hospital and the night supervisor at the Genesee County Nursing Home.  She was also a faithful Roman Catholic Christian member of Resurrection Parish of Batavia.

     She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, David Mullin (2001); her sister, Geraldine Hartman and brother, Lawrence Schad.

     Verna is survived by her children, Deborah Hohl, David (Sandra) Mullin, JoAnn (Thomas) Christensen and Jeffrey (Vicky) Mullin; her brother, Lester Schad; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

     Family and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Thursday, Dec. 9 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter's Church, 44 Lake Street, LeRoy. Interment will follow in St. Francis Cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. (www.stjude.org)
