Gerald E. Blind

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Gerald during this holiday season on December 30, 2021.  He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara (Rathbun) Blind; his brothers, Donald (Doris), Roland (Loraine), Edward (Caroline) and James (Shirley) Blind.

He is survived by his sister Patricia Marciano; his son Stephen (Pam) Blind and daughter Patricia (Edward) Dries; Grandchildren; Joshua (Denise) Dries, Cassandra (Jason) Bleuer, Melissa (Jeremy) Wannike, Christopher (Rebecca) Blind, and Michael (Candace) Blind; several great grandchildren; nieces, Virginia Tress, Susan (Michael) Martin; nephews, Jim Blind, Kevin Blind, Bob (Patricia) Blind, Bill Blind, Larry (Teresa) Blind, Tom (Mary) Blind, John, Edward, and Daniel Bielaski; and his good friend David Hurlbutt.

Gerald was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. When he returned home he started his career and retired with Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E).  Gerald enjoyed his time in the Amish Country of Pennsylvania and offered up his time to chauffeur the elderly to their appointments in Tel Hai. Gerald was a New York Yankees fan, loved automobiles, country music, minced pie, and staying warm in good flannel clothes.

No prior visitation. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 1301 Vintage Lane, Greece.
