Mrs. Speed was born July 7, 1920 in West Bethany, the daughter of the late Thomas and Lorene (Rafter) Galliford.
She is the predeceased by her husbands, Rudolph P. Richenberg in 1975 and Anson J. Speed in 2000; a son, John M. Richenberg in 1998. She is the sister of the late George Galliford, Thomas Galliford, Herbert Galliford, Isabel Mitterling, Evalena McGee, Mary Lambert, Mabel Hilken, Ruth Reamer, and J. Daniel Galliford.
Surviving is her daughter, Debra (Ronald) Bonczyk; daughter-in-law, Linda Richenberg; grandchildren, Ramona (fiancé Kaz Falco) Richenberg, Kathy Richenberg, Alicia (fiancé Michael McDonald) Bowen; sisters-in-law, Martha Richenberg, and Clara Galliford.
Florence is a former member of the Presbyterian Church of Elba, Elba Fire Department Ladies’ Auxiliary, the Historical Society of Elba, the Elba Grange, and the Home Bureau. She was a bus driver for Elba Central School for many years.
Family and Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street in Batavia, where Florence’s Funeral Service will immediately follow visitation at 6:00 p.m. Burial in Maple Lawn Cemetery in Elba will be private. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Elba Fire Department, 4 S.
