Joseph Kuzma

Byron - Joseph Kuzma, born in Buffalo, N Y. July 13, 1946 to Henry and Helen (Wachowiak) Kuzma. He was an Air Force veteran who served during the Vietnam War; stationed in Japan. He attended the University Of Buffalo for his undergraduate studies and graduated from the University of Toledo, Ohio Pharmacy School. Following graduation, he worked in pharmacies in Toledo and Sandusky, Ohio. In 1976, he returned to Western New York to work in the V.A   pharmacy in Batavia. Joseph also worked at the V.A. pharmacies in Canandaigua and Rochester. He retired from the VA in 2003.

He is survived by his wife Rita ( Kowalczyk ) Kuzma whom he married on August 8 1970 and his son Joseph Jonathan.  Joseph is predeceased by his father, mother, brother Henry, sister Theresa, and  daughter Jennifer. Also surviving are nieces and nephews.

Joseph enjoyed golf and traveling. His travels took him to Europe, South America, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Family and Friends may call from 4 to 6 pm on Thursday (March 31, 2022) at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 51 South Lake Avenue in Bergen. Joseph's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11 am at St. Brigid's Church, 18 Gibson Street in Bergen. Burial with military honors will follow in Byron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Good Days and Special Times, 1332 Pittsford Mendon Rd, Mendon, NY 14506 or Byron Rescue Squad, PO Box 210, Byron, NY 14422.
