Francis J. Amrhein

  Francis J. Amrhein, many knew him as either “Frank, Butch or Stach”, 76, of Attica, New York, passed away on March 23, 2022, at Rochester Memorial Hospital surrounded by family.  He was born November 1, 1945, in Buffalo New York, the son of the late Francis J. and Agnes M. (Kalieta) Amrhein.

Frank was a veteran of the United States Army and was later employed by and retired from Attica Prison as a New York State Correctional Officer.  He was a member of St. Vincent’s Church in Attica.

He is survived by his children, Michelle L. (Wes) Persun of PA, Frank J. (Erin) Amrhein and William M. (Maggie) Amrhein of SC; a brother, Dennis Amrhein of Depew; grandchildren Matthew, Quinten and Mara Persun, Deziree (Persun) Rosenberg, Reid and Emma Amrhein and Everly Amrhein; 1 great grandchild with another on the way as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Linda M. (Gorom) Amrhein; sisters Barbara Amrhein and Joan (Amrhein) Gajewski; brother-in-law Bernard (Cookie) Gajewski.

There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass to celebrate Francis’s life will be held at St. Vincent’s Church in Attica, NY and will be announced at a later date.
