Juanita M. Capuano

Juanita M. Capuano, 88, of Batavia passed away with her family by her side on Friday November 6, 2015 at the New York State Veterans Home.  She was born October 2, 1927 in Genesee Falls, NY to the late Claire and Thelma (Dake) Lathrop. She is predeceased by her loving husband of over 60 years Vincent “Cappy” Capuano who passed away in 2005 and her sisters Arlene Constantino and Betty Gant.
 
Juanita was a lifelong member at St. Anthony’s Church in Batavia.  She was quite the restaurateur, owning The Post House and Scotland Yard Restaurant with her husband and also working at Cristina's.  She worked for GTE Sylvania and Batavia Downs in Batavia as well.  She was an avid bingo and card player. Most importantly, she was known for always having a smile on her face especially when surrounded by her loving great-grandchildren, Matt and Leah.
 
She is survived by her daughter Carol (Lindsay) Frens of Elba, Brother Harry Lathrop of Rochester; special grandchildren, Michele (Keith) Price of Corfu, Heather Frens of Batavia, Jeremy (Kristin) Frens of Batavia, Pamela (Shannon) Fry of Batavia; great-grandchildren, Matt and Leah Price, Teegan Frens, Brody Fry; step great-grandchildren, Scott, Haleigh, Sam and Hannah Fry; a special nephew Frank (Ann) Capuano along with several other nieces and nephews.
 
There will be no prior calling hours. A 10:00AM Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday November 12, 2015 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish (Ascension) 15 Sumner St. Batavia, New York 14020. She will be entombed in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum.
