Mildred R. (Falco) DellaPenna

Mildred R. (Falco) DellaPenna, 9of Batavia, NY died November 12, 2010 in United Memorial Medical Center. She was born March 5, 1914 in Batavia, NY. Daughter of the late Anthony (Angela Maria Paolino) DiFalco. Mrs. DellaPenna was a member of Resurrection Parish. She graduated from Batavia High School and attended the Rochester Business Institute. She is preceded in death by husband Thomas DellaPenna, step-daughter Rosemary Donald, brothers John, Joseph, Sebastian and Nicholas Falco. 
 
She is survived by her step sons Peter DellaPenna, Rocco (Georgine) DellaPenna and John DellaPenna all of Batavia, step-daughter Madeline Ferris of Batavia; step-daughter-in-law Judy DellaPenna and  sister-in-law Valerie Falco of Batavia. Nephews John (Sharon) Falco of Webster, Thomas Falco of Rochester; niece Ann M. Falco of Batavia; 11 step-grandchildren, 15 step-great-grandchildren, survive along with great nieces, nephews and cousins. 
 
There will be no prior calling hours. Friends are invited to join the family for a 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial on Monday November 15, 2010 at Resurrection Parish (St. Joseph’s site) 303 East Main St. Batavia, NY 14020. Entombment will take place in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum in Batavia.

Robert Joseph Pascoe

Mr. Pascoe was born in Trenton, New Jersey on March 9, 1942 a son of the late Joseph and Margery Smith Pascoe. Bob was a graduate of Perry High School class of 1960, Rutgers University Class of 1964 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical engineering, and Boston University School of Theology class of 1968 - STB. He was ordained Deacon in 1966 and Elder in 1968 in the Western New York Conference of the United Methodist Church. For more than 40 years, Bob served the United Methodist Church in Sheridan, Churchill Memorial in Boston, NY, Geneseo and Kenmore. He served a term as District Superintendent of the then Jamestown District of the United Methodist Church. A member of the Upper New York Conference of the United Methodist Church, he was active in the First United Methodist Church in Perry for many years. A member of the Perry Rotary Club and Silver Lake Country Club. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing, reading, writing (being the creator of Chippy and Choppy), computers, photography, boating on Silver Lake, and was a Civil War buff. He is preceded in death by his father-in-law: Alfred Allen, brother John Pascoe.

Bob is survived by his wife of 45 years Jane Allen Pascoe whom he married on June 19, 1965, a son: Richard (Dawn) Pascoe of Perry, a daughter: Julie (Craig) Pierce of Redding, Ca., a brother: William (Carol) Pascoe of Ocala, Fla., sister-in-law: Gwen Pascoe of Lakewood, NY, mother-in-law: Frances Allen of Perry, 5 grandchildren: Allysa, and Chelsea Pascoe, Kayda, Alan “AJ” and Raylin Pierce, along with 10 nieces,and nephews also survive.

Friends and family are invited to call on Friday November 12th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, LLC. 98 North Main St. Perry. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM on Saturday November 13th at the First United Methodist Church in Perry. Interment will take place in Glenwood Cemetery Perry, NY.

Richard E. Hunt

   Richard E. Hunt, 85 of Rochester, NY died November 10, 2010 in Monroe Community Hospital in Rochester. Born January 5, 1925 in Batavia, NY. Son of the late George  and Kathleen (Weeks) Hunt Sr. Mr. Hunt worked for many years at George Smith Motors and Batavia Downs. He is a WWII Navy Veteran, member of the American Legion and a longtime member of St. Mary’s Church. He is preceded in death by his wife Harriet (Boucher) Hunt; daughter Michelle E. Marchese; brothers George Jr., Charles and Fred Hunt; sisters Jean Twardowski and Kathleen Chaddick. 
 
He is survived by son Richard (Kathy) Hunt of Spencerport; daughters Sharon (Richard) Graham of Chili; Diane Rohner of SC; Peggy (Richard) Graf of Derby; son-in-law Peter Marchese of Corning; sister-in-law Mary Bolenda of Batavia; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren survive along with many nieces and nephews.

MR. CARL H. BRINKMAN

Elba - Mr. Carl H. Brinkman, 62, of Elba, an inspector at AGL in Rochester, died Sunday, November 7, 2010 at United Memorial Medical Center, following a brief illness.

Mr. Brinkman was born January 10, 1948 in Batavia, a son of the late Holden Jerry and Loretta Woolever Brinkman.
 
Mr. Brinkman loved spending time with his family and served with the United States Army from 1968-1970. He enjoyed attending car shows and was the owner of Brinkman’s Sewing Machine Repairs.
 
His wife, Elaine Balduf Brinkman, died September 6, 2008.
 
He is survived by his children, Kevin (Kristine) Brinkman of Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota, Brian (Danielle) Brinkman of Elba, Debora (Joel) Pocock of Bergen and Nicholas Brinkman of Elba; seven grandchildren, Allysen, Courtney, Holden and Dakota Brinkman and Jaden, Logan and Novalee Pocock; two brothers, Dennis Brinkman of Piffard and Donald (Janet) Brinkman of Batavia; two sisters, Barbara Brown and Bonnie (Larry) Horine, both of Batavia; his father-in-law, Loren (Betty) Balduf of Stafford; a brother-in-law, David (Patricia) Balduf of South Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Donna (Larry) Stiles of Batavia and Bonnie Brinkman of Bergen; and several nieces and nephews.
 
He is the brother of the late Richard Brinkman who died in 1999.

Michael K. Ellingham

Michael K. Ellingham, 41 of Batavia, NY. Died Saturday November 6, 2010 at his home. Born December 2, 1968 in Rochester, New York. Son of James Ellingham of Las Vegas Nevada and the late Keneta Joy Murray Ellingham. Mike worked as a Child Care Assistant at the NYS School for the Blind in Batavia. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed working with the children at the blind school. He enjoyed music, cooking and spending time with his son. He is preceded in death by his step mother Joan C. Ellingham. 
 
He is survived by his son Joshua M. Ellingham of Elba; brother Mark (Lisa) Ellingham of Bergen, his step sister Christine (James) Wheeler of Naples, FL and his girlfriend Mindy Moon of Batavia. 2 nieces and 2 nephews Jayson Ivison, Michael Wheeler, Morgan Wheeler and Kali Ellingham also survive.

DOLORES T. STAUSS

Age 71, of Syracuse, NY, died unexpectedly Friday morning November 5, 2010 at Lee Memorial Health Systems in Ft. Myers, FL. She was born March 1, 1939 in Syracuse daughter of the late Carmen & Jane (Barba) Romano, also preceded in death by her husband Richard N. Stauss and daughter Barbara Stauss. Mrs. Stauss worked for Home Depot and was a member of Holy Family R.C. Church in Syracuse. She enjoyed trips to the casino, Florida and spending time with her family.

Surviving is her loving children Richard (Leslie) Stauss of Oakfield; Timothy Stauss of Syracuse and Tammy McKiernan of New Jersey; brother Frank (Arlene) Romano; sister Mary Jane (late Bruce) Olmstead both of Syracuse; 3 grandchildren Steven Stauss of Oakfield, Kaitlyn & Shannon McKiernan of New Jersey along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present from 5-8 PM Friday Nov. 12, 2010 at B.L. Bush & Sons Inc. 10 Main Street Camillus, New York 13031. A 9:00 AM Memorial Mass will be Saturday at Holy Family R.C. Church 127 Chapel Drive Syracuse, New York 13219. Interment will be Onondaga County Veteran's Cemetery and memorials in her memory can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Jane A. Penkszyk

Jane A. Penkszyk, 90, of Alexander, died Friday (November 5, 2010) at Batavia Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Lackawana, NY on August 27, 1920 a daughter of the late John and Anna Bozek Penkszyk.

Miss penkszyk was a member of Sacred Heart Church and was a supervisor at the former W.T. Grant Co. in Batavia.

Surviving is a brother, Michael Penkszyk of Alexander.  Two sisters in law: Josephine Penkszyk of Batavia and Geraldine Penkszyk of N. Carolina.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

She is the sister of the late Walter, Joseph and Frank Penkszyk and Julia Latko.

Friends and relatives may call Tuesday from 8AM to 9AM at the J. LEONARD MCANDREW FUNERAL HOME, 2 BOGUE AVE., BATAVIA, where prayers will be at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM at Ascension Parish (Sacred Heart Church.

SHIRLEY W. HUSTED

Age 88, of Batavia, died Thursday evening November 4, 2010 at Orchard Manor, Inc. in Medina. She was born September 5, 1922 in East Pembroke, NY daughter of the late Glenn & Adelaide (Brownell) Dymond and also preceded in death by her husband Robert Husted in 1997. Mrs. Husted was formerly employed at Dohler-Jarvis, US Gypsum and the Batavia Equine Clinic, she and her late husband spent nearly 20 years in Florida before she returned to the Batavia area.

Surviving is her loving son & daughter-in-law Michael (Colleen) Husted of Batavia; brothers Douglas (Maryann) Dymond of Tonawanda, NY, Dean Dymond of Illinois, Robert (Gayle) Graham of FL and Ercel Dymond of CA; 3 grandsons Aaron, Andrew (Angela) & Christopher Husted all of Batavia along with several nieces and nephews.

There is no prior visitation and a Memorial Service will be announced at a future date. Memorials in her memory are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

Austin James Russell

Austin James Russell 1 week old infant son of Brian L. Russell and Jamie A. Stiles of LeRoy died Wednesday November 3, 2010 in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. Austin was born on October 27, 2010.
 
In addition to his parents he is survived by a brother Zachariah Stiles of LeRoy, sister Tyann Stiles of LeRoy, maternal grandparents James (Judy) Stiles Sr. of Pavilion and paternal grandparents Bonnie Laska of Mt. Morris and Terry Russell of Honeoye, NY. Maternal great grandparents Tom (Alice) Greene of Oakfield, paternal great grandparents John (Charlottte) Russell of Nunda, Connie Craft of Florida and Michael Laska of Varysburg. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

JANE R. RYAN

Bergen - Mrs. Jane R. Ryan, 84, retired print shop manager at Union Bank of California located in El Cajon, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010at Lakeside Biekirch Care Center, in Brockport. 

Mrs. Ryan was born June 15, 1926 in Batavia, the daughter of the late Sidney and Ruth Sheridan Maher. She graduated from LeRoy High School in 1945.
 
After her husband, Guy V. Ryan died in 2000, she moved back to the Bergen area.
 
Survivors include one brother, Robert (Kathleen) Maher of Bergen; four sisters, Donna (Robert) Powers, Barbara O'Grady and Marlene (James) Ireland all of Bergen and Geraldine Lichti of Florida; a stepdaughter, Bethel (Dan) Awtrey of Texas and several nieces and nephews. 
 
She was the stepmother of the late Marilyn Shafrath and sister of the late Norman Maher and Gladys Hill.
 
Friends may call on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 am at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 51 S. Kalleen Mary Holihan

Kalleen Mary Holihan, 67, of Batavia died Sunday (October 31, 2010) at Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital in Buffalo after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Long Island on November 14, 1943, a daughter of the late Walter and Sheila Darrnell O'Brien.

Kalleen was a craft designer and featured her creations at many craft shows throughout the area.

She was always helping others, even the animals.  She was the most wonderful lady ever to her family and friends.

Surviving is a son, Walter E. (Tami) Sutton of Batavia.  A daughter, Teresa (Stephen) VanSon of Darien, NY  Six grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.  A brother, Timothy (Mary Ellen) O'Brien of Perry Ctr., NY.  She was the sister of the late David O'Brien.

Ralph F. Torcello

Ralph F. Torcello, 86, a lifelong resident of Batavia, died Saturday (October 30, 2010) at Lakeside Hospital in Brockport, NY.

He was born February 14, 1924, a son of the late Frank and Amelia Kocur Torcello.  He was a 1942 graduate of Batavia High School and was very active in track and field and other sports.

A World War II veteran, he served as CPO 1st Class with the Naval Armed Guard Fleet in the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres.  He was a member of the USN National Armed Guard WWII Veterans Accociation and the Sampson WWII Navy Veterans Inc.

He retired in 1985 as a skilled trades Supervisor from Delco Products in Rochester and was a member and Vice Commander of the Glenn S. Loomis Post 332 American Legion in Batavia.  He was a member and Past President of  Byron Kiwanis, member of the Batavia Moose Club, Perry Old Orchard Game Club,  Stafford Historical Society.  Ascension Parish (Sacred Heart Church) and a former member of the Holy Name Society.

Surviving is his wife of over 64 years, Joan D. Waclawski Torcello.  Four children: Patricia A. (Joseph) Catalina of Valatie, NY, Marcia A. (Joseph) Rice of East Liverpool, OH, Ronald R. (Mary Cane) Torcello of Churchville, NY and Robin J. (Stephen) Hodownes of Honeoye Falls, NY.  Eight grandchildren and one great grand daughter also survive.  

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary T. Colombo and brother, Frank J. Torcello.

Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM at the J. LEONARD MCANDREW FUNERAL HOME, 2 BOGUE AVE., BATAVIA,  where prayers will be Wednesday at 8:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM at Ascension Parish (Sacred Heart Church).

Interment with full Military Honors will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

KEITH G. GERRISH

Batavia - Mr. Keith G. Gerrish, age 64, of Batavia, formerly of Spencerport, an electrical engineer at Hover-Davis in Rochester, died Sunday, October 31, 2010 at the Batavia Nursing Home.

Mr. Gerrish was born June 21, 1946 in Buffalo, the son of the late Donald and Barbara Lansinger Gerrish.
 
Mr. Gerrish's life was his engineering and enjoyed watching motorcycle drag racing where he often worked on the engines of his friend's motorcycles. He also worked as an electrical engineer at Eastman Kodak Co. and Precision Filters.
 
He is survived by his children, Christine (Michael) Heatherman of Macedonia, Ohio, Cynthia (Gordon Smith) Perez of Batavia and Kevin Gerrish of Seminole, Florida; four granddaughters; twins, Jessica and Amanda Heatherman of Macedonia, Ohio and Kelsey and Quinn Gerrish of Seminole, Florida and nieces and nephews.
 
There are no prior calling hours. John G. Spaeth

Akron - Mr. John G. Spaeth, 95, of Akron, a test specialist at Niagara Mohawk Power Co., in Batavia, died Saturday, October 30, 2010at Greenfield Health and Rehabilitation Center, in Lancaster.

Mr. Spaeth was born October 22, 1915 in Cheektowaga, a son of the late Christian and Sarah (Bennet) Spaeth.
He served during World War II with the Army, was a member of Oakfield United Methodist Church and a past long time member of the Akron United Methodist Church. He traveled to 49 states and was a member of the Avion Travel Club, American Legion, Glenn S. Loomis Post #332, was active in yearly reunions of the 876 a/B Engineer Aviation Battalion and enjoyed electronics. 
His wife, Viola (Harfman) Spaeth died in 2003.
Survivors include his son-in-law, James Houghton of Depew; 2 grandchildren, Rebecca (Matthew) Davidson of Rochester and Andrew (Theresa) Houghton of Attica; a brother, Christian Spaeth of Clayton; 2 sisters, Ellen Weiss of Buffalo and Barbara Wight of Akron, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 
He was the father of the late Joan Spaeth Houghton who died in 2003 and brother of the late David Spaeth and Charles Spaeth.  

Services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Oakfield United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 101 John James Audubon Pkwy West, Amherst, NY 14228 or to Oakfield United Methodist Church, 2 S. Mary A. Hamman

Mary A. Hamman, 83 of Batavia, NY. Died October 30, 2010 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. Born March 23, 1927 in Akron, OH to the late Martin P. (Willamena Leuders) Gallagher. Mrs. Hamman worked for 50 years at Chapin Manufacturing in Batavia. She loved to bowl, play bingo and watch baseball. She is preceded in death by a daughter Laura Kunes (1965) and a sister Loveda Hall. 
 
She is survived by sons Frank Hamman of Las Vegas, NV; Martin (Carol) Kunes of Bennington; daughters Frances (Jerry) Robinson of York, SC; Carol (Terry) Harder of Attica; sister Shirley Chimino of Batavia; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren survive along with several nieces and nephews.
