Batavia - Edward T. Letts, Jr., 47, of Batavia, Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Rochester General Hospital, in Rochester.

Mr. Letts was born October 27, 1970 in Rochester, the son of the late Kenneth and Kathy J. (Bresslin) Johnson.

Survivors include 2 sisters, Amber (Josh) Hutchings of Batavia and Trisha Letts of Florida.

Batavia - Linda C. Dibble, 71, of Batavia, an employee of  P.W. Minor Shoe Factory, died Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Crossroads House in Batavia.

Mrs. Dibble was born September 13, 1946 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Robert and Frieda (Gramp) Hummel.

She was a 1965 graduate of Alexander High School and she enjoyed baking and was an avid bowler in the "Jack & Jill" League and the Thursday Nite League.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen H.  Dibble, whom  she married June 19, 1965; a son, Todd (Deborah) Dibble of FL; 3 brothers, Rudy (Jackie) Hummel of TN, Norm (Mary Lou) Hummel of E. Pembroke and Kenny (Janet) Hummel of NC; 3 sisters, Elsie Duckworth of Fredonia, Elfrieda (Dave) Bridge of Stafford and Shirley Evans of Fillmore; a brother-in-law, Jerry Martin; 2 grandchildren, Anthony Dibble of Batavia and Bethani Dibble of FL; 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Paul H. Dibble who died in 1988 and sister of the late Robert Hummel, Ernie Hummel, Eleanor Luce and Alice Martin.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 10 am to 1 pm at H.E. Elba - Mary Rowcliffe, age 52, of Elba, passed away on Friday afternoon peacefully at home with her beloved dogs by her side after a courageous five year battle with cancer.

She was born September 30, 1965 in Batavia, to the late James Tibbs and Elaine Winters Tibbs of Batavia.

Mary, “Dietze”, will be remembered for her passion of helping others, her outspoken personality, and the immense love she had for her family and friends. Dietze devoted her life to caring for disabled children at the New York State School for the Blind, and even after she fell ill she worked until the end making these children feel special. All 52 of her years were filled with so much life, but she lived life to the fullest the last 28 years with her soulmate and partner in crime, Garth Rowcliffe.

Dietze is preceded in death by her father, James Tibbs, father-in-law, Don Rowcliffe and brother-in-law, Robert Dempsey.

Surviving along with her husband is her mother, Elaine Tibbs; her loving siblings, who referred to themselves as the “circle of 6” because they often relied on each other to get through hard times,  Margaret "Daud" (late Robert) Dempsey, Betsy (Mike) Royal, Jimmy (Kim) Tibbs, Richie (Cathy) Tibbs and Tom (Lisa) Tibbs. She is also survived by her three daughters whom she was so proud of, Meghan (Andrew) Brown, Alexandra (Adam) Harrington and Ryleigh (Garth) Hinkson; her mother-in-law, Carol Ann Rowcliffe; brothers and sisters-in-law; Tim (Sandy) Rowcliffe, Lorie (Mike) Cleveland, Jule (Jack) Dolan, Dana (Alice) Rowcliffe and Kate (Jim) Worrington. Dietze is also survived by one grandson and many nieces, nephews, cousins and three special friends, Cathy Sawyer, Carol Pangrazio and Beth Walsh.

Family and friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main Street, Batavia.  Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 303 East Main Street, Batavia by Fr. Rochester - Phyllis M. Poole, 93, of Rochester, formerly of Batavia, a line worker at the former GTE Sylvania in Batavia, died Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Kirkhaven Transitional Care, in Rochester.

Mrs. Poole was born March 12, 1924 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of the late Thomas and Florence (Clark) Kendall.

She was an 81 year member of the Batavia 1st United Methodist Church, member of AARP and was a past president of FOE #2348 in Batavia.

She is predeceased by her husbands, Frank Stachowski who died in 1969 and her second, Victor S.  Poole, Sr., who died in 1997.

Survivors include her daughter: Delores DiVito of Rochester, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; 3 step-children, Dorothy Lowery of Perry, Victor (Karen) Poole of Batavia and E. Eugene (Penny) Poole of TX; a special niece and nephew, Nancy & Norm Cairl of Toledo, OH; special friends,  Dorothy Moeller of Batavia, Kattie Torrence of FL and the late Ruth Lange.

Carol Anne Embt, 79, of Le Roy, formerly of East Bethany passed away on October 27, 2017 at the Le Roy Village Green. She was born on March 18, 1938 in Batavia to the late Howard and Ruby (Kilner) Smith. In addition to her parents, Carol is predeceased by her brothers Dick and Bill Smith.

Carol loved being a housewife and taking care of her children. She was also very proud to be a farmer’s wife. She helped start and finish the chores in the barn and her husband Lyle taught her how to drive a car and their tractors.  Carol enjoyed sewing and doing needlepoint and always had room for a stray animal in their home. Most of all, her pride and joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years; Lyle W. Embt of LeRoy, formerly East Bethany; her 8 children Paul (Lori) Embt of Pavilion, Tim Embt of E. Bethany, Bob (Gail) Embt of VA., Becky (Mark) DiNardo of MD., Don (Susan) Embt of VA., Susan (Brian) Meyers of E. Bethany, Sarah (Phil) Miess of Henrietta and Tom (Jennifer) Embt of Cheektowaga; along with 15 grandchildren.

Mary J. (Klein) Schwab, 99, of Warsaw, formally North Java, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2017 at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born on September 25, 1918, the daughter of the late Edward and Johanna (George) Klein. In addition to her parents, Mary is predeceased by her husband of 61 years; Frederick J. Schwab who passed away Apr. 11, 2001; daughter Janice Henneberger; son Thomas Schwab; siblings Raymond, Robert, Jane, Dorothy, Pauline, Rita and Bernadette; son in law Blaine Jackson.

Mrs. Schwab was a life member of St. Nicholas Church in North Java and also the Parish Lady of Lourdes Society.

She is survived by her 6 children; David Schwab of N. Java, Walter (Cynthia) Schwab of N. Java, Elaine (Jeff DeGeyter) Schwab of Indian Lake, NY., Carole (Thomas) McGuire of Warsaw, Julie Schwab of Perrysburg, NY., Marie (Michael) Ryan of Warsaw and Alice Jackson of E. Aurora; daughter in law Joanne Schwab of FL., son in law David Henneberger of Cuba, NY., along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alfred “Chuck” Lippold, 88, of Attica passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 1, 2017 surrounded by his family at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw. He was born in Attica on November 3, 1928 to the late William and Anna (Pfalzer) Lippold. In addition to his parents, Chuck is predeceased by his wife; Beverly (Nixon) Lippold; sister Ruth Dudek.

Chuck was a United States Army Veteran during the Korean where he was a Sergeant of a bridge and road construction unit.  Chuck retired from Westinghouse in Attica where he worked for over 35 years. He was a member of the American Legion Attica Post. He loved to ride his bicycle all over Attica.  After years of riding, he upgraded to a scooter.  Chuck was an avid deer and pheasant hunter who also liked to trap. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandkids. On the weekends, he would work on roofing homes for extra money so he could take his wife Beverly dancing, something they loved to do.

He is survived by his children; Linda (Mark) Zimmermann of Corfu, Steven (Theresa) Lippold of Bergen and Lisa (Kevin) Cochrane of Attica; siblings Paul (Pat) Lippold of Oakfield, Doris Lindebauer of Batavia and Joan (Sam) O’Geen of LeRoy; 8 grandchildren Brandon, Cory, Austin, Renee, Steven, Alex, Justin and Lindsay; 4 great-grandchildren Ethan, Lukas, Drew and Jade along with several nieces and nephews. Also survived by his companion dog, Billy.

Rochester - Audrey E. Aradine, age 82, of Rochester, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Unity Hospital of Rochester.

Mrs. Aradine was born December 28, 1934 in Batavia, a daughter of the late David H. Grice, Sr. and Alice Stanton Grice.

An inspector at Owens Illinois, Inc., in Brockport, one of her greatest joys in life was her grandchildren who would always brightenher day. She truly enjoyed seeing pictures of them and hearing stories about them.

She is survived by her children, Cory (Karen) Aradine of Rochester,  Kevin (Judy) Aradine of Bergen and Kim (George) Ryan of Rochester; six grandchildren, Laurie (Jess) Templeton of Rochester, Lisa (Wade) Peck of Farmington, Adam Aradine of Albion, Megan Aradine of Byron, Bradley (Taylor) Ryan of Rochester and Staci (Nick) Howcraft of Hilton; nine great-grandchildren, Matt, Meghan, Elijah, Jeremiah, Ethan, Hannah, Grayson, Emma and Wesley; her sister, Doris Tootell of Batavia; her longtime friend, Gladys Hardway of Florida and several nieces and nephews.

She is the sister of the late Ruth Alice Wagner, Harold "Bud" Grice and David H. Grice, Jr.

Leo E. Vainio Jr., 70, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017.

He was born on January 12, 1947, in Putnam, Conn., to the late Leo E. Vainio Sr., and Viola Vainio (Pottola). In addition to his parents, Leo is predeceased by his son, Michael L. Vainio in 2013.

On April 15, 1972, Leo married his wife, Betsey Vainio (Bell). They moved from Rochester to Byron in 1976 and raised their four children in Byron.

Leo retired from Eastman Kodak after 30 years in 2003. He was a member of Hesperus Lodge No. 837 F&AM in Bergen, NY. Leo and Betsey moved to Hendersonville, NC in 2016. Leo was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener.

He is survived by his wife; son Patrick Vainio of Ormond Beach, Fla; son Shawn (Annjannette) Vainio of Girdwood, Alaska; daughter Leigh (Erik) Johanson of Asheville, NC; granddaughter Anja Vainio; and grandson Finn Johanson.

Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Lung Association, or the Elizabeth House in Hendersonville, NC, in Leo’s name.

A private memorial was held on Monday, October 23 in Hendersonville, NC.

Patricia A. Cavanaugh, 57 of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Friday October 27, 2017 surrounded by her family at Strong Memorial Hospital in the palliative care unit. She was born January 22, 1960 in Stamford, CT to the late Edward (Joan Carroll) Bankowski. Mrs. Cavanaugh is preceded in death by her brother Edward Bankowski Jr.

Pattie loved her time spent working at Stafford Country Club, taking care of the flowers. She owned and operated Trishia’s Treasures, making blankets and various crafts. Pattie enjoyed kayaking working on hitting all of the Finger Lakes and shopping, trying to find the best deal. She absolutely adored her family; she was supportive of everything they chose to do and loved them with everything she had.

She is survived by her beloved husband Peter Cavanaugh of Batavia; children Jennifer (Ryan) Burke of Nashville; Christopher (Mallory) Cavanaugh of Syracuse; granddaughter Cecilia Burke; along with several nieces and nephews.

JOSEPH C. CINQUINO ~ Batavia

Beloved husband, father and grandfather, died peacefully Thursday evening October 26, 2017 at Highland Hospital with his family at his side. He was born March 11, 1927 in Batavia, NY to the late Michael and Elsie (Moretto) Cinquino, also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances (Schumacher) Cinquino in 2009; siblings, Louis Cinquino, Mary Joy, Betty Burke, Netta Razzano and In-laws, Marie Racine, Barbara Strollo, Leo & Bill Schumacher and Jewel Kipfer. 

Mr. Cinquino was an Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII, longtime member of Resurrection Parish (St. Joseph's), worked for many years at Sylvania and finally at the Eastman Kodak, Co. before retirement. He was an avid reader and took in so much knowledge that it was said, "He knew the most things, about the most things." Joe enjoyed making homemade wine and his children claim his long life is due in part to his annual garden, where he started his famous pepper plants from the previous year's seeds, which were heirloom seeds from his late father, tended to them until just perfect to pick, roasted them, and added them to his homemade bread for his daily "Roasted Red Pepper" sandwich. 

Surviving are his loving children, Aileen Cinquino of Buffalo, Mary Margaret (Jeffrey) Radka of Brockport, Joanne (Jim) Mattiucci of Webster, Michele (Dan) Cheeseman of Webster and Michael (Renee) Cinquino of Conesus; siblings, Louise Misiti of Medina, Nicki (Dan) Lista of PA, John (Annette) Cinquino of Buffalo; 9 grandchildren, Janelle (Sean) Baker, Leslie Radka, Andrew & Michael Mattiucci, Elyse Cinquino, Owen & Aidan Cheeseman, Anna & Joseph Cinquino; 3 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Rita Cinquino of LeRoy, Pat (Bill) Wunder of Canada and brother-in-law, Charles Razzano of PA along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Clarence M. “Bo” Johnson, 82, of Attica passed away peacefully with his wife and son by his side on Wednesday October 25, 2017 at the New York State Veterans Home @ Batavia. He was born on July 21, 1935 in Meadville, PA., to the late Clarence and Virginia (Faulkner) Johnson. In addition to his parents, Bo is predeceased by his sister; Carolyn Ross and brothers in law Ed Johnson and James Ross.

Bo enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1953 and was discharged in 1956. He served as an Airman Medic with the 82nd & 101st Airborne divisions. He co-owned his own business Jim-Bo Dog Food with his brother in law Jim Ross. Bo drove as an over the road steel hauler until he "retired". While he was retired he drove part time for Walton's Milk Hauling until finally retiring for good when in his early 70's.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years; Margaret “Peggy” (Peterson) Johnson of Attica; children Dale (Lillie) Johnson of FL., C. Boyd (Laura) Johnson of Attica; brother David (Frank) Jonson of CA.; sister Lonnelle (Clifford) Sutliff of PA.; grandchildren Jay (Lisa) Gaal, Travis (Jenn) Johnson, Brianne Martin, Craig Johnson and Ryan Johnson; great-grandchildren Desiree Martin, Dallas Good and Emma Johnson; sister Barbara Johnson.

Batavia - Glen C. Kruger, 57, of Batavia, passed away suddenly Thursday, (October 26, 2017) at Strong Memorial Hospital, in Rochester.

Mr. Kruger was born August 13, 1960 in Batavia, a son of Carl Kruger, Sr. of Batavia and the late Beatrice (Bateman) Kruger.

Glen was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Circus Model Builders, and a lifetime member of the Genesee County Agricultural Society.  He enjoyed model trains, woodworking, collecting coins and spending time with his family.

He is the husband of Rebecca (Wiatrowski) Kruger whom he married September 22, 2007.

Surviving along with his father and wife are his children, Benjamin (Veronica) Kruger of Lancaster, and Thomas (Katie) Kruger of Spencerport; step-children, Joseph (Kay) Summers of Mt. Morris, Matthew (Christina) Summers of Michigan, Noah Summers and Elysia Summers both of Alexander; brothers, Carl (Janice) Kruger, Jr. of Indiana, and Roger (Kathy) Kruger of Texas.  12 grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews also survive.

Glen is preceded in death by a son, Glen "Chad" Kruger.

Frances M. Diemoz, 78, of Darien Center passed away peacefully on Thursday October 26, 2017 at the Batavia Health Care Center. She was born on April 13, 1939 in Buffalo to the late Albert and Rose Marie (McMorrow) Quinn. In addition to her parents, Frances is predeceased by her brother William Quinn and in-laws; Thomas and Pearl Diemoz.

Frances was a past member of Sweet Adeleines and Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed singing in the church choir at Our Lady of Good Counsel for many years and also sang for weddings. Fran was an avid Yankees fan.

She is survived by her loving, devoted husband of 59 years; Robert Diemoz; children Ann (John) Lavrincik of Attica, Michael (Mary Ann) Diemoz of Attica, Douglas (Karen) Diemoz of CA; grandchildren Jennifer (Jason) Caudill of Attica, Daniel (Stacey) Smith of FL., Joel (Liz) Diemoz of TN., Kayla Diemoz of CA., Kimberly (Kevin) Hoffman of Attica, Emma Diemoz and Grace Diemoz both of CA.; 7 great-grandchildren Reese, Raven, River, James, Hudson, Allison and Kyle; sisters in law Norene (Wayne) Kilburn and Nancy (Wayne) Newton.
