Pat was born on June 19, 1931 in Batavia, New York, the daughter of Genesee County Judge Newell Kingsbury Cone and Lydia Belle [Johnson] Cone. Pat attended Batavia elementary schools, the Columbia School in Rochester, NY and graduated in 1953 from Wells College in Aurora, NY. Following graduation, Pat returned to Batavia where she established a rewarding 25-year career as a Genesee County social worker.

An avid gardener, golfer, and bridge player Pat also enjoyed the symphony, theater and sporting events. Pat traveled the world but most of all loved spending time with her friends and family.

Pat was a caring and compassionate woman who loved living in and supporting Batavia NY, proudly calling it home for her entire life.  Pat volunteered endless hours for the Anna Casey Fund, The Marshall Fund, The American Red Cross, AAA, Meals on Wheels, Elmwood Cemetery Board, United Memorial Hospital and Saint James Episcopal Church where she was a lifetime member. Pat took great pride in donating her blood that measured in gallons not pints.

Pat was predeceased by her parents and her older sister, Joan Kingsbury (Cone) Freeman.

Pat is survived by a niece, Laura F. Mills (Jack), nephews, Matthew M. Freeman, Patrick K. Freeman, John D. Freeman (Jeanette) and Craig C. Freeman (Paula Lee). Her surviving relatives include Hollis Upson (Joy), Stephen Upson (Robin), David Upson, (Valarie) and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

There will be no visiting hours.  A spring funeral and graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. Batavia ~ Gary A. Malcomb Sr., age 61, of State Street, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wedenesday, December 14, 2022.

     He was born February 5, 1961 in Lockport, NY, a son of the late John and Emma Bennett Malcomb.

     Gary’s grandchildren were very special to him.  He was also an avid Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres fan.

     He is survived by his children, Gregory (Cassie) Malcomb, Brian Malcomb, Cindy (Paul) Munn and Junior Benedict; grandchildren, Greyson, Madelynn, Savannah, Camden, Jocelyn and James, along with three siblings.

     Gary was predeceased by his wife, Carol Malcomb in 2015 and his daughter, Janell Malcomb in 2020.

Elizabeth J. He was born November 8, 1935 in Batavia, NY, a son of the late Charles John Bannister and Amanda Davis Bannister.

He served our great nation as a cryptologist in the US Navy from 1954-1958. He was a computer specialist for Graham Manufacturing prior to retirement. He was a past Batavia City Councilman and former member of the Batavia Jaycees and past commander of the Glenn S. Loomis American Legion Post #332. He also enjoyed singing in his barbershop singing group. John had a deep love for his Guinness Beer, fancy dance moves and gifting family and friends lottery “scratchers.” He always had a positive outlook on life and was so full of energy. He had the kindest of hearts and was always willing to help anyone in need. He loved God and his Country, and even wrote his own prayer:

Survivors include a daughter, Coreen (Jonathan) Miller of Florida. Son, Christopher (Lisa) Bannister of Attica. Grandchildren, Brandon (Samantha) Burns, Kaitlyn (Michael) Tiede and Arin (Patricia) Bannister. Great-grandchildren, Elias and Denton. Also survived by a sister, Sally (Richard) Benz.

She was born December 21,1953 in Rochester, NY, the only child of the late Howard and Laura (Martin) Walrath of Avon, NY and wife of the late Rodney Smith of Corfu, NY.

Jill began working for New York State right after graduating high school and spent most of her career working for the Finger Lakes Developmental Disabilities Service Office, where she retired from in 2008. One of her greatest passions in life was helping others. After retirement from the State, she worked as a private Nanny and as a bus aide at Byron-Bergen School district, but she found much fulfillment in working for Healthy Living at Rochester Regional Health as a Peer Educator where she met with community members in the GLOW region to educate them on the importance of cancer screening, a cause very near and dear to her heart after her own battles with breast cancer. 

In her free time Jill was an avid trapshooter who won several state championships, a curious traveler who always enjoyed an adventure and seeing the world, a green thumb who prided herself on her creative and vibrant gardens every spring, a passionate and life-long Buffalo Bills fan through the good years and bad who loved being at games, and an accomplished cook and baker. 

Jill was a warm and loving person. Her family and friends were always paramount to her, and she loved her daughter Meghan, husband Michael, and dog Mozart with everything she had. 

She is survived by her husband, Michael Mager of Batavia and daughter, Meghan Gallagher of Batavia.

The family would like to thank so many friends for their support over the last five months and the staff at Crossroads House for their compassionate care of Jill at the end of her fight.

Ms. Burling was born October 21, 1941 in Batavia, a daughter of the late John P. and Lydia Dorothy (Schultz) Burling.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Batavia for over 40 years and was a devout Christian who enjoyed studying the Bible. She liked to knit and tend to her rose garden.

Surviving are her sons, John Paul (late Mary) Butler, and Jackson James Butler both of Batavia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Frances is preceded in death by her siblings, Jackson J. (late Bertie) Burling, James Edward (late Joyce) Burling, and George Burling.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday (December 21, 2022)  from 4:00 to 5:00 pm at H.E. Turner & Co. He grew up in Elba, NY, doing farm work and learning to drive stick shifts at an early age.

After graduating from Elba in 1950, he proudly served in combat in Korea as a member of the 2nd Infantry Division, 23rd Infantry Regiment.

Leaving the Army as a corporal, he lived in Batavia until marrying Violanda (VI) Ianni in 1957 and moving to Oakfield.

Glenn is a retiree of Batavia Metal Products, after working for Dusing and Hunt in LeRoy, and US Gypsum in Oakfield.

He had a lifelong love of animals and nature, cars, and trains.  For much of his retirement he was active in the Oakfield Historical Society, organized Batavia Metal Products retiree breakfasts, and helped plan reunion luncheons for his Elba class.

He was predeceased by VI.

Surviving are his love of 15 years Shirley; children Dave (Katie) of Fairport and Sharon (Jeff) of Batavia; sister Dorothy (Bruno) of Batavia, brother Paul (Linda) of Elba; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

His family extends their deepest gratitude and appreciation to Doctors Ifthi and Passero, nurses Cheryl and Megan, and all of the fantastic team at Wilmot Cancer Institute for more than a decade of excellent and compassionate care during his battle with multiple myeloma.

LeRoy ~ On Saturday, December 10, 2022, Stephen Paul Mancuso, loving father and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home.  He was 67 years old. 

     He cared greatly for his home and took pride in keeping it pristine.  He always had a project or a job to do, and there was no job that he could not do himself.  You could find him on a ladder, mowing the lawn, cutting down a tree, planting in one of his three gardens, braiding garlic in the barn, or walking barefoot underneath the pine trees. 

     Stephen loved cinema and was a sucker for a romantic comedy.  His favorite movie of all time was ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’.  He could re-watch movies over and over again and loved to show off his extensive movie collection. 

     He loved to travel and see the world from the seat of his Harley Davidson, but if you asked him, the biggest risk he ever took was not taking enough risks. 

     The last year of his life, he became a grandfather to Maverick Stephen Chatham.  He shared with all that this was his greatest gift.  He could not brag enough about the love he had for his grandson and his children.

     He is survived by children, Christina Chatham (Mancuso) and Matthew Mancuso; son-in-law, Shane Chatham; grandchild, Maverick Chatham; siblings, Lynn Rapone, Paul (Wendy) Mancuso and Gene (Melanie) Mancuso; nieces and nephews, Brandi Rapone, Heather Rapone, Emily Mancuso, Morgan Mancuso, Corey Mancuso, and Grace Mancuso.

     Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Paul Mancuso and his mother, Dale Ann (Dool) Mancuso.

     A memorial gathering celebrating Stephen’s life will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 2 – 5 PM at Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Steet Road, LeRoy, New York 14482.  At 5 PM family and friends are welcome to share stories about Stephen.

Introduced to horse racing at an early age, he dedicated his life to the profession and sport. Throughout much of his life he managed a stable of more than 20 horses, while simultaneously holding a full-time job with the Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, New York as a welder and fabricator. 

He fathered four successful children; three children, Carla, Betty, and Hank with his first wife, Agnes Malady and later, one child, Anthony, with Karen Marini-Marsh.

Lyle’s passion was the horse business, and particularly, harness horse racing. He got his start as a teenager and maintained this great love throughout his life. This passion pushed him into every aspect of the business, finding success as an owner, trainer, and driver. He was also known as one of the best blacksmiths in the state. He was a lifetime member of both the United States Trotting Association and the Western New York Harness Horseman’s Association.

Lyle was preceded in death by his father, Roy, and his mother, Mary. Also, by his siblings, Wayne, Ronny, Lester, and Sylvia. He is survived by his four children, his wife, Karen, as well, his siblings, Wayde, Neil, Suzanne, Sharon, and Roy (Junior).

There will be no prior calling hours. A 1:30PM Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday December 18, 2022 at The City Church (St. Anthony’s site) 114 Liberty St. Batavia, NY 14020.  A Graveside Service will be held on at the Oswegatchie Cemetery around Independence Day. James E. Kryman, 83, of Batavia passed away peacefully on December 15, 2022 at his home. He was born on October 9, 1939 in Batavia to the late Albert and Orial (Bluman) Kryman. In addition to his parents, Jim is predeceased by twin grandsons; Brandon and Troy Sheeler.

During Jim’s 41 years at Chapin Manufacturing in Batavia, he enjoyed the golf and bowling leagues he was a part of. Even after he retired, Jim continued enjoying being on the golf course almost daily. He treasured his time with his family, especially during the holiday season. Jim’s three grandchildren were the light of his and Joan’s life.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years; Joan (Caborn) Kryman of Batavia; daughter Traci (Mark) Sheeler of Alexander; 2 sisters Joyce and Judy; 3 grandchildren Tyler Sheeler of Batavia, Ryan Sheeler of Alexander and Megan Sheeler of Ft. Meade, Maryland.

Dustin was a 2006 graduate of Perry High School. He was a mason for Baltz Concrete in Pavilion. He enjoyed playing disc golf, corn hole, bowling, riding his motorcycle and going on family vacations. His biggest joy was times spent with his fiancée Erica and their children Sutton and Miles and attending all of the family gatherings.

Not all of her loved ones were there to say goodbye, because one room, any room, could never hold the number of people who loved Arlana, much less all of the people who she shined her love upon during her time with us. Arlana, Lana, The Asian, Auntie Lana, The Ambassador of Happiness, A Fierce Warrior, A Legacy of Kindness, A Light, Sunshine… all of the nicknames which could be used to describe the living example of generosity, joy, kindness, positivity, light, caring, loyalty, and love - they all belong to her.  

Arlana was born to this world with a love to be shared. As she grew she learned to share her gift.  She left a lasting impression on everyone she crossed paths with.

Lana’s love left nothing unsaid. It needed no words - though words were often used. A handwritten note, soul-stirring text, a deep, soulful social-media post encouraging positivity and joy, a conversation over dinner (for which she often paid - much to the frustration of the guest), sharing her joy for simple pleasures such as fine wine, passionate food, sunsets, nature and moments… Arlana truly celebrated the beauty and preciousness of moments.

“I am on a journey to encourage people to be the best version of themselves possible,” - Arlana. The truth is, Lana, we all know that to be the best version of ourselves, we need to be more like you.  

In addition to her mother, Arlana is survived by her loving, devoted partner; Sarah Tsirtsakis and her 4 children who she loved and adored, as if they were her own; Niko, Alex, Kali and Mira; siblings Jason (Mary Ellen) Reardon of Batavia, Holley (John Giessler) Reardon of Batavia; Nong (Jason) Masters of AZ., Chanta (Florence) Sayphrarath of CA., and Joy (Frangelica) Sayphrarath, and their children, along with nieces and nephews James, Thomas, Sean, as well as her beloved dogs; Adelina and Kleo.

Louise was born April 15, 1931 in Alexander, a daughter of the late Harold and Joy (Wight) Goodman.

Louise was a charter member of the Elba Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.  She was also a member of the Elba Presbyterian Church.  Louise loved her family, Christmas time, cooking, baking, reading and canning.  After her retirement from M & T Bank, she remained active in church, auxiliary and community activities while always being available for any and all of her family.

Surviving are her husband of 72 years, Kenneth Post; children, John (Cheryl Totten) Post, Daniel (Kim) Post, Marcia (Todd) White, Janet (Judd) Ewell and Laurie (Pete) Torpey; grandchildren, Jason (Stacy) Post, Kailynn (Kyle) Stacy, Jeffrey (Janette) Post, Joy (Rich) Brewer, Holly (Shawn) Stoneham, Megan (Will) Hoffman, Brad (Nicole) White, Elizabeth (Fred) Turner, Derek (Deanna) Torpey, Chelsey (James) Vacanti and Cody (Michayla) Torpey; eighteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Johncox and several nieces and nephews.

He was born January 18, 1957 in Batavia, a son of the late Albert and Phoebe Babbage Burr.

James was an avid Grateful Dead-Head and loved the outdoors. He was thought of as a great man and was known as a giver and not a taker.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Clark Burr, step-children, many friends and his beloved canine companion, Cody.
