Mary Ann (Pastecki) Fasano

Mary Ann (Pastecki) Fasano, 76, of Batavia, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning (June 3, 2014) at her residence with her children at her side after a long battle with breast cancer.

She was born in Batavia on August 26, 1937, a daughter of the late Anthony and Elizabeth Sikorski Pastecki.

Mary Ann was employed by New York Telephone Co., Palace of Sweets and the Cornell Cooperative Extension and most recently with Walmart in Batavia as a cashier for fifteen years.  She was also a member of Resurrection Parish.  Mary Ann enjoyed gardening around her home and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Michael Fasano III of Batavia and daughter, Maria (Darryle) Streeter of Batavia. Beloved grandchildren, Julia Streeter and Benjamin Streeter of Batavia.  Brothers, David (Marilyn) Pastecki of Batavia and Peter (Kathy) Pastecki of Hilton. Special niece, Geri (Joseph) Graff of Batavia.  Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

She was predeceased by a sister, Christine Pastecki.

There will be no prior visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, 9:00AM, at Resurrection Parish, 303 East Main St., Batavia.  Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mary Ann’s memory to St. Joseph School, 2 Summit St., Batavia, NY 14020.

HELEN KRZEWINSKI – Age 89, of Batavia, formerly of LeRoy died peacefully Monday evening June 2, 2014 at the Batavia HealthCare Center. She was born May 20, 1925 in Batavia, NY a daughter of the late Boguslaw & Mary (Jankowski) Krzewinski, also preceded in death by brothers, Stanley, Matthew, Richard; sisters, Irene Gillette, Ryta Brownell and niece, Jane Dejaneiro.

   Helen worked for NY Telephone for many years finally retiring from AT&T. She loved to travel, dance, enjoyed trips to the casinos, gardening, flowers and her dog, Buttons.

   She is survived by many nieces and nephews including, Gary (Maryann) Brownell of NM, Richard (Kathryn) Krzewinski of LeRoy, Anne (Daniel) Feeley of Stafford, Margaret Krzewinski of LeRoy, Amy Krzewinski of Webster, Charlotte (William) Gillette of Corfu and Geraldine Saunders of Oneonta; her caregiver of many years, Sarah Flint of Caledonia along with many great nieces/nephews and great-great nieces/nephews.     

   Family and friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday June 4, 2014 at the Michael S. Tomaszewski Funeral & Cremation Chapel, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York and then celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Thursday June 5, 2014 at Resurrection Parish (St. Joseph's Site). Ronald L. Sanders, 51, of Waterport  passed away on Friday May 30,  2014 at Highland Hospital in Rochester surrounded by his family.  He was born January 21, 1963 in Lockport.    Ron was a member of the East Shelby Community Bible Church in Medina. He enjoyed genealogy, camping and the mountains, garage sales, collecting movies and music. Ron coached baseball for several years. He was a loving, caring husband and father. He treated his wife like the most important person in the world for 20 years.        

Ron is survived by his beloved wife Deborah L.A. (Hale) Sanders of Waterport; children Sarah and Veronica Sanders of Waterport; Joseph (Audrey Woodruff) Sanders of Medina; Gregory (Amanda) Narburgh of Oakfield; Maranda (Michael) Jackson of Batavia; grandchildren Lorelei and Madison Sanders; Greg Jr., Logan and Landon Narburgh; Joseph Danser, Adriana Boyki, and Amanda Jackson; great-grandson Aidan Morgan.

 A 4:00 PM Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday June 8, 2014 at East Shelby Community Bible Church 5278 East Shelby Road Medina, NY 14103. There will be a light reception to follow.

EDWARD A. EHMAN

EDWARD A. EHMAN – Age 71, a resident of the New York State Veterans Home @ Batavia died peacefully Sunday afternoon June 1, 2014. Ed was born November 27, 1942 in Salamanca, NY, a son of Arnold & Evelyn (Hanson) Ehman, also preceded in death by his son, Fred Korhummel and daughter, Ann Korhummel.

Ed served our country with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

Surviving is his loving wife of 33 years, Margaret (Tabone) Ehman of Clarence; children Edward C. (Angela) Ehman, Michael Ehman, Dawn Ehman, April Ehman all of Syracuse, Janice (Michael) Curatolo of East Amherst and Lisa (Brian) Bauer of Lancaster; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kyler, EJ, Callen, Christian, Grace, Kaylie, Cole and Freddie along with many nieces and nephews.

The family will Celebrate a private funeral mass at the Veterans Home and memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor's choice in his honor.

Betty C. Perry

Akron -- Betty C. Perry, 87, of Akron, passed away at her home Saturday (May 31, 2014) with her loving family by her side.

Mrs. Perry was born on February 4, 1927 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Murray and Lillian Mullaney Colby. She and her late husband, Charles A. Perry, were the proprietor’s of Perry’s Market in East Pembroke for nearly 30 years. Betty was a member of the Corfu United Presbyterian Church and a member of the Chancel and Bell Choirs. She was an avid quilter, loved to bake and was a friend to everyone. Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles A. “Buster” Perry and her brothers, Alyn Colby Sr. and Richard Colby.

Betty was the loving mother of three sons, Michael (Monica) Perry of Batavia, David (Diane) Perry of Houston and Dean Perry of Batavia; two daughters, Cathy (Don) Nadolinski of Corfu and Carol (Lynn) Cooney of League City Texas; adoring grandmother of Jason (Heather), Kyle (Caroline), Sara, Jonathan, Jessica, Justin and Matthew. Betty is also survived by a sister-in-law, Carol Colby of Webster and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the C. B. Beach & Son Mortuary, Inc., 4 East Main Street, Corfu. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Corfu United Presbyterian Church 63 Allegheny Street, Corfu. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, East Pembroke. Shirley R. Cramer

Shirley R. Cramer, 84 of Attica, passed away on Thursday May 29, 2014 at home. She was born December 29, 1929 in Pembroke to the late Alvin (May Arnold) Mellenthin. Mrs. Cramer is preceded in death by her husband Robert Cramer; daughter Roberta Cramer Dennis; brothers Allan, Norwood, Earl and Arnold; sisters Carol and Arlene.

Mrs. Cramer was the valedictorian of her high school class in Alexander and went on to receive her Associates Degree from GCC. She retired as a Registered Nurse in 1992 from the former Genesee Memorial Hospital in Batavia. She was a lifelong member of the Alexander United Methodist Church and member of the Church Choir. Mrs. Cramer was a Hospice volunteer and WNY Gas & Steam Engine Association in Alexander. 

She is survived by sons David of Aurora IL; Carl (Laura) of Pauls Valley, OK; Mark of Daytona Beach, FL; Jeffrey (Susan) of Attica; Terry (Sue) Cramer of Rochester; daughter Laurie Cramer of Alexander; 27 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Kelly G. Glor

Kelly G. Glor, 42, of Attica, passed away on Wednesday May 28, 2014 at United Memorial Medical Center. He was born on June 16, 1971 in Warsaw to Dustin Glor of Amherst and Janice LaWall of Attica. Kelly loved riding motorcycles and The Buffalo Bills.

Along with his parents he is survived by his fiancé Christine Emmick of Attica; daughters, Gina Glor of Darien Center, Miranda and Ashley Glor both of Warsaw, brother, Chris Glor of Attica, sister, Brenda (Ray) White of York along with several nieces and nephews.

JENNIE J. WARREN - Age 77, of Batavia, died peacefully Tuesday morning May 27, 2014 at Highland Hospital with her family at her side. She was born February 3, 1937 in Batavia, NY to the late Peter and Eugenia (Leuci) Falcone and also preceded in death by her husband Donald in 1999; infant daughter, Valerie; siblings, Dominic, Anthony, James, Frank, Michael, Peter and Mary.

   Jennie was a lifelong member of Resurrection Parish, enjoyed the outdoors and her beloved companion, Kootsie. She was always there for her children, grandchildren and her love will forever live on in their hearts.

   She is survived by her cherished children; Donald (Jo) Warren of Byron, Christopher (Kimothy) Warren of TN, Linda (Jon) Martino of Oakfield, Kimberly (Terence) Burns of Spencerport and Todd (Ronald Lynch) Warren of Batavia; sisters, Sue (Walt) Means of Oregon, Anna Freeman of Lancaster, Rose (Bob) Moore of Batavia, Patricia (Tom) Scheuerlein of Byron; sisters-in-law,Eileen Falcone of KY and Charlotte Falcone of CA; 6 grandchildren, Kristin Closson, Kiana Warren, Dylan Martino, Brooke Closson, Gabriella Closson & DJ Martino along with many nieces and nephews.

Heather E. Coufal

Pavilion/Covington ~ Heather E. Coufal, age 46, of Perry Road, passed away Friday (May 23, 2014) at home after a 20 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

     Heather was born September 15, 1967 in Rochester, a daughter of the late Harold Coufal and Marian Adams Wilson.

     She will be remembered as a loving and compassionate person, with a “firecracker” personality at times. 

     She is survived by her loving mother and step-dad, Marian (Thomas N.) Wilson, with whom she resided, her children, Brian Bisig of Freedom, Rachael Mullen of Grinnel, Iowa and Morgan Jackson of Pavilion; grandchildren, James and Brooke; siblings, Wesley Coufal of Pavilion, Melissa Coufal of Buffalo, Rebecca (James) Robinson of Warsaw and Timothy (Lisa Taylor) Ruffin of Bergen; an uncle, Alan Adams of Las Vegas; special nephew caregivers, Andre, Jason, Joshua, Noah and Riley, along with many other nieces and nephews.

     The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to all the caregivers that have assisted with Heather’s care over the years.

JAMES M.A. "JAMIE" CARNEY

JAMES M. A. "JAMIE" CARNEY – Our beloved son, brother, friend and dear family member died unexpectedly Saturday May 24, 2014 in New Jersey. Jamie was born February 25, 1987 in Batavia, a son of David & Elizabeth( Riemen) Carney of Batavia.

   Jamie served our country proudly with the US Marines having served tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan and most recently was living in Newton, MA. He had dedicated his last 16 months caring for a special needs child and recently began his undergrad work in Early Childhood Development. He was an outstanding person with so much to give never asking for anything in return. A kind, caring, selfless man with a big heart and generous spirit.

   Surviving along with his parents are his siblings, Joshua (Holly) Carney, Holly (Desmond) Blackshear, Gregory (Alicia) Carney all of Batavia, Patrick (Amanda) Carney of Texas and Lindsay (Brett) Frank of Batavia; his maternal grandmother, Patricia Riemen-Beam of Clarence Center  along with many nieces and nephews.

Raymond G. Russell

Raymond G. Russell, 79 of East Pembroke, passed away on Friday May 23, 2014 at United Memorial Medical Center. He was born on November 3, 1934 in Batavia to the late Harry (Dorothy Anawald) Russell.

Mr.  Russell was retired from US Chrome where he worked for 36 years.  He was a former member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church; he enjoyed woodworking, sewing, crocheting, embroidery, camping and traveling.

Raymond is  survived by his wife Evelyn (Graham) Russell of East Pembroke, children Ricky (Lynn) Ball of Erie, PA, William (Nina) Ball, Robert (Cheryl) Ball all of Batavia, Christine (Randy) Klawer of East Pembroke, Patricia Turner of Alabama, Linda (Paul) Bisig of Batavia and Pamela “Rustie” (Louis) Reeb of Corfu. A brother Robert (Donna) Russell of Penfield, two sisters Marilyn Moulthrop and Jean (Everett) Smith of Batavia; 19 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren survive along with many nieces and nephews.

Sharron Ann Lapp

Sharron Ann Lapp, 74 of Attica, passed away on Saturday May 24, 2014 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was born on February 16, 1940 in Batavia to the late Kenneth (Esther Landis) Jennings. Sharron is preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Lapp who died in 1993, step daughter Roberta and a brother Donald Jennings.

Sharron was a lifelong Attica resident, a graduate of Attica High School Class of 1957 and a member of the Senior Citizens Group. She was retired from Mallory Timers and P.W. Minor Shoe Factory. Her greatest joy was her family who she loved especially her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, she also loved to read and garden.

Sharron is survived by her daughter Suzanne J. (James) Donohue, step son Brad Lapp all of Attica, step daughter Debbie, a brother Kenneth (Susan) Jennings, two sisters Virginia (Kenneth) Skelton of Chiefland, FL and Shirley Jennings of Attica. 4 grandchildren Clinton, Breck, Patrick and Sabrina Donohue also survive along with many nieces and nephews.

Fred J. Lord

Fred J. Lord, 65, of Perry died on Thursday May 22, 2014 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. He was born in Batavia, New York on March 5, 1949 a son to the late Frank and Ruth (Smith) Lord. Fred is preceded in death by a sister Joanne and brother Frank Jr.

Fred graduated from Batavia High School and retired from Marking Tubing in Wyoming. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and enjoyed car racing at area speedways.

He is survived by his loving companion: Kathy Spence of Perry, a daughter: Samantha Lord of Rushville, two sons: Jason (Carrie) Lord and Evan (Tabitha) Lord both of Pittsburgh, PA., a step-daughter: Stephanie (Jeff) Spence Clarke of Raleigh, NC., a step-son: Jared (Kristin) Spence of Boston, MA., two sisters: Janette (Phil) Vigneri of Elba, Mary Pedone of Buffalo, a brother: Paul (Patti) Lord of LeRoy, six grandchildren: Anna, Mitchell, Nathaniel, and Monica Lord, Hailey and Jared Spence Jr. along with many nieces and nephews.

Raymond C. Southard

Raymond C. Southard, 85, formerly of Attica, went to live with the Lord on Friday May 23, 2014   at the NYS Veterans Home in Batavia. He was born on April 13, 1929 in Utica, NY to the late George and Florence (Smith) Southard.

Ray was devoted to his family and friends. He lived in Attica for close to 40 years where he was proud to work for the Attica School System as a Physical Education Teacher, Coach and then Middle School Principal. After retiring he and his late wife Jean moved to N. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He had recently moved back to New York to be close to family. 

Mr. Southard is preceded in death by his loving wife of more than 60 years Jean (Krueger) Southard, and a son Michael Southard (1954)   

Ray was the father of George (Connie) Southard of Fishers, IN, Sherrie (George) Hertweck of Rochester, Laura (Russell) Batcho of Warsaw. He has 7 grandchildren Carrie Groothoff, Christine Rasche, Amy Southard all of Indiana, Bradlee Burns Jr. of Warsaw, Kimberly Douglas of Batavia, Aaron Hertweck of Rochester and Hannah Hertweck of Nairobi, Kenya, 11 great-grandchildren also survive along with many nieces and nephews.

BRADLEY D. OSTRANDER

BRADLEY D. OSTRANDER - Age 63, of Batavia, died Monday morning May 19, 2014 at his home. He was born June 9, 1950 in Torrance, CA to the late Howard M. and Merry (Vreeland) Ostrander and also preceded in death by his brother, Ronald. Brad was one of Jehovah's Witnesses belonging to the congregation in Batavia. He was a part-time employee for Genesee County Mental Health Services since retiring. He also was previously employed at Wal-Mart and was a district manager of Rug Doctor for 20 years.

   He had a great love of the Bible and all of God's creations. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his family but he especially enjoyed teaching his granddaughter to fish. In the last few years his health had deteriorated but he always kept a positive attitude. He always had an infectious smile and enjoyed making others laugh with his many stories and funny jokes. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to everyone.

   He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Diane (Platko) Ostrander of Batavia; beloved father of, Gregory J.    Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial of his Life at 2:00 p.m., Saturday May 31, 2014 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3601 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
