Snowmobile accident reported in Pavilion, near Texaco Town

A 24-year-old male has reportedly suffered a leg injury in a snowmobile accident in an area off Route 20 in Pavilion.

The location is near Texaco Town and the patient is said to be near the roadway.

Accident reported at Oak and Richmond, Batavia

A two-car vehicle accident is reported at Oak Street and Richmond Avenue, Batavia.

One person is still in a vehicle, unknown if injured.

City Fire and Mercy EMS dispatched.

UPDATE 10:21 a.m.: Two flat-bed tows are requested to the scene. No reports of serious injuries.

Rollover accident in Pavilion, no injuries

A rollover accident is reported in the area of 6909 Ellicott Street Road, Pavilion.

The vehicle is reportedly on the railroad tracks.

Two people were extricated, uninjured.

Snowmobile accident reported near Norton Road, Elba

Two people are reportedly injured after a snowmobile accident in the area of 6920 Norton Road.

The accident occurred on the old railroad bed just west of Norton Road.

The callers are going to attempt to make it to the roadway. 

Elba Fire and Mercy EMS dispatched.

UPDATE 10:33 a.m.: Mercy Flight on standby. Norton Road is being shut down.

UPDATE 10:48 a.m.: Mercy Flight not required at the scene.  

 

Volvo struck by truck with plow on Bank Street Road, no injuries

A Volvo SUV was struck by a pickup truck with a front plow attached at about 5:30 as it turned onto Bank Street Road at Assemblyman R Stephen Hawley Drive in Batavia.

The truck driver allowed the driver of the Volvo to sit in his truck while awaiting emergency responders.  She was uninjured, he said. 

There is a stop sign on Hawley drive and Bank Street Road has no stop sign at that intersection.

Town of Batavia Fire and Mercy EMS responded.

Garbage truck vs. semi-truck accident reported on Route 63 in Bethany

A garbage truck and semi-truck have reportedly collided on Route 63 just south of the Town of Batavia.

Minor injuries are reported.

There may be a fire in the back of the cab of one of the vehicles.

There is apparently some garbage in the roadway.

Initially, traffic was blocked in both directions.  One way traffic for cars may be able to pass soon.

Bethany Fire Police on the scene for traffic control. Stafford Fire Police requested to shut down traffic at Ellicott Street Road and Batavia Stafford Townline Road.

UPDATE 3:12 p.m.: The truck is now fully involved.

UPDATE 3:18 p.m.: An engine from Stafford requested to the scene.

Car reportedly leaves scene of accident in Bergen

A vehicle has reportedly fled the scene following a two-vehicle accident at South Lake Road and Buffalo Road in Bergen.

One person reports a back injury.  

One vehicle is in a ditch.

Bergen Fire and Le Roy Ambulance responding. A second ambulance was dispatched but has been canceled.

A possible suspect vehicle has been located on Route 19 near North Road.

UPDATE 7:30 p.m.: One person transported to Strong.

Passenger car and semi reportedly involved in accident in Bethany

A passenger vehicle and a semi-truck have collided at Route 63 and Bethany Center Road, Bethany.

Injuries are reported.

Bethany Town of Batavia Fire and Mercy EMS dispatched.

UPDATE 9:05  p.m.: No serious injuries.  Traffic is partially blocked.

Roll over accident reported in Elba

Car vs. tree accident reported on North Lyon, Batavia

A car has struck a tree on North Lyon near Richmond Avenue in the City of Batavia.

Unknown injuries.

City Fire responding.

UPDATE 4:49 p.m.: The cause of the accident is under investigation. The patient is a sign-off (denying further treatment).

Multi-vehicle accident reported in Downtown Batavia

A multi-vehicle accident is reported in the area of 73 Main Street, in front of the YNGodess Shop, Batavia.

Unknown injuries.

City Fire and Mercy EMS dispatched.

UPDATE 7:14 p.m.: A car has struck a parked car in front of Key Bank.

UPDATE 7:44 p.m.: An Audi sedan struck a parked vehicle pushing that vehicle into another car parked in front of it.  The driver of the Audi was administered a field sobriety test and taken into custody.  His name has not yet been released.

Power outage reported along South Pearl Street Road

A power outage affecting 740 National Grid customers is reported along South Pearl Street Road and south nearly to Alexander Road, from the City of Batavia to near Darien.

The power outage was reported at 1:41 p.m.  

It is unconfirmed if related, but there was a motor vehicle accident reported at 2901 South Pearl Street Road, Pembroke, at about the same time the outage started.

The estimated power restoration is 3:45 p.m.

UPDATE 3:15 p.m.: Power has been restored.

Car-deer accident with injuries reported on Route 20, Darien

A car-deer accident with injuries is reported in the rea of 2339 Broadway Road, Darien.

UPDATE 5:42 p.m.: A Mercy EMS ambulance dispatched for a patient with facial injuries.

UPDATE 5:48 p.m.: The injuries are minor and bleeding is controlled.

Accident with minor injuries but entrapment reported on Slusser Road

A one-vehicle accident is reported in the area of 7989 Slusser Road, East Pembroke.

The car is in a field. The driver reportedly sustained only minor injuries but extrication is required.

East Pembroke Fire on scene and Alabama Fire called to assist.

UPDATE 2:59 p.m.: Crews have managed to get the patient out through the door.  Alabama can stand down and the East Pembroke engine can continue non-emergency.

Accident reported on Route 77 in Alabama

A motor possible motor vehicle accident is reported in the area of 7033 Alleghany Road, Alabama.

Dispatchers and hear a horn beeping and four-ways flashing but no voice response on the open 9-1-1 call.

Alabama Fire and Mercy EMS dispatched.

Dispatchers checking on the availability of Mercy Flight.  Mercy Flight is going on in-air standby.

Law enforcement is on scene and reports the vehicle about 100 feet off the road.

UPDATE 5:29 p.m.: Mercy Flight requested to the scene. CPR in progress.  Mercy Flight is coming from Olean with a 30-minute ETA.

UPDATE 8:03 p.m.: From Alecia Kaus/Video News Service: According to the Sheriff's Department, the driver of the vehicle had a medical issue and drove off the west shoulder of the roadway as it was headed south on Rt. 77. The driver, a male in his mid-50s, then called 911. When medical and fire crews arrived, the driver was unresponsive. The driver passed away on the scene.

UPDATE 11:32 p.m.: The Sheriff's Office has issued a press release about the incident.  At 5:17 p.m., emergency dispatch received a call from the On-Star reporting that emergency services were needed in the area of 7033 Route 77 in the Town of Alabama.  Upon arrival, patrols found a 2009 Ford 150 a field about 50 yards off the west should of the roadway.  The vehicle appeared to have little damage.  The lone male occupant was unresponsive and responders believed he had suffered a medical incident.  Life-saving measures were attempted.  The driver was identified as Mark R. Morlock, 55, of Cheektowaga.  Morlock was pronounced dead at the scene.  The Sheriff's Office is conducting an ongoing investigation.  Alabama Fire and Mercy EMS assisted at the scene.
