Batavia Motor Speedway on Harloff Road is hosting a national ATV race that has brought racers to the track from all over the United States, including world record holders.

Racing started Friday and continues on Saturday, with the first race at 11 a.m. and main races starting about 4 p.m. and the professionals expected to take to the track for pro-only races at about 9 p.m.

Yesterday, Batavia played host to the 2012 ATV Extreme Dirt Track National Championship Series at the Batavia Motor Speedway on Harloff Road.

Hundreds of racers, including some of the top pros in the country, from all over the nation to participate in the event. (For more about the series, click here.)

(I don't have an ID on #16, but #708 is Harold Goodman, who came into the event in second place in pro point standings (no results posted yet for yesterday's event)).

Registration begins at 2 p.m., followed by practice from 3 until 4 p.m. and a rider's meeting from 4 until 5 p.m.

The WNY Dirt Track Racing Racing Club is sponsoring the event, which will feature over 200 ATVs at speeds of 60 miles per hour and more.

Racing on clay and sliding arounds the turns, there will be some exciting, intense racing with the TT Pro top purse at $1,000 and TT Amateur money class at $500, special awards for kids classes.

Practice on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. On Saturday, gates open at 9 a.m. Racing starts at 5 p.m.
