Vickers sentenced to life, had abused two Batavia boys

By WBTA News

Convicted pedophile David Vickers has been sentenced to life in prison.

At least two of Vickers victims had been placed in his home by Genesee County Family Court.

Vickers, now 51 and a former truck driver originally from Ontario County, was sentenced in Federal Court in Buffalo yesterday for abusing six underage boys. All of his victims are now adults.

Prosecutors described Vickers as, “an opportunistic, serial pedophile who will never stop.”

The case against Vickers goes as far back as 1989.

Vickers took some of his victims on overnight trucking trips, prosecutors said.

In 2003, before Vickers abuse was discovered, he asked the Genesee County Family Court to place one of his victims in his home and the court approved. Two years later, the same court allowed another child to be placed with Vickers who was also abused.

Vickers brother, Sean, was also involved. He is serving a sentence of 107 years.

Vickers declined comment during his sentencing but did express concern for his own safety. He told U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara, “I don’t care where you put me, as long as I am safe.”

does he really deserve to be safe? those boys he molested sure weren't safe. i say put him in a prison where the inmates really love child molesters

This abomination may sign himself into protective custody and need not come in contact with another or other inmates. The stigma among inmates is not the same as it was because there are so many of them now. They have their own websites; NAMBLA-North American Man/Boy Love Association. They consider themselves progressive thinkers.

Were these two brothers both Catholic priests? Their MO sounds just like 10% of all Catholic priests. And what the hell was wrong with Genesee County Family Court? If I were an attorney I would take that ten million dollar lawsuit on a contingency basis.

nobody has any questions about the court that placed those children in the situation they found themselves in? ooh the courts, don't question them for they are the law. I know first hand a family member who has 3 cases with CPS and NOT once was the family member interviewed. that's how it works in genesee co.. howard, can you publish the judge's name for us all to see? probably not as the records are sealed, you know to protect everyone.

after thinking about my post and situation my view of the courts is in question. the courts can only act on the information they are presented with, if they receive inadequate reports, from an agency they trust, I can't expect them to make intelligent decisions.

Jeff - what that guy did was disgusting, horrible, and evil, but justice is being served by his being placed in jail, away from those they can hurt.

As for the "wink wink nudge nudge let the other prisoners 'take care of him'" baloney - we don't do that kind of punishment anymore - we are better than that. Do you consider yourself a Christian? I kinda thought the eye-for-an-eye stuff went out with the Christian Savior. I suppose you could be leaning towards traditional Muslim penalties for the guys...

But seriously - keep him isolated, away from everybody else. Let him stew in his own little psychological hell for the rest of his life.
