Unorthodox politician Jack Davis maybe jumping back to GOP

By Howard B. Owens

Our old friend Jack Davis caught the attention of Robert Harding over at The Albany Project. Apparently, now that Dick Cheney is out of office, Davis is falling back into the GOP fold.

Davis was seen, reportedly, at a GOP fundraiser in Niagara county.

Surely, regional Republicans won't object to his cash switching sides.

So much for "party loyalty" on Jack's part.

They can keep him as far as I'm concerned, if us Democrats have any luck he'll be running with an (R) after his name in 2010.

Andrew-The thing is that he was a Republican until 2004 when he switched to the Democratic party to run for congress on an anti-free trade platform. After losing in '04, completely blowing the Democrats best chance for a pickup in this district in '06 and getting beat by an embarrassing margin in the '08 primary given his (large) amount of money spent....he rejoins the party that he left over "principal".

In a rare moment, we agree, 'opportunist' is the right word.
