On behalf of the Genesee County CROP Walk Planning Team, you are invited to be a part of this year’s CROP Walk, scheduled for Saturday Oct. 3rd in Batavia.  CROP is sponsored internationally by Church World Service, to fight world (and local) hunger. CROP stands for Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty. This annual event is more than a way to provide food shipments to people at the end of a global breadline. They empower people around the world to support themselves.

25% of funds raised will stay here in Genesee County, 75% of funds raised will be used in the US and around the world. This year our local funds will be directed to the Migrant Ministry and Catholic Charities. Non-perishable food items collected as part of the Walk will go to the food pantry at the Salvation Army.

This year’s Walk is scheduled for Saturday, October 3 with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall, the Walk begins at 9:00 a.m. You can choose to walk either a 3K route or a 2K route. Maps will be available at registration.

If you are interested in participating, please contact any member of the team for more information, or Bob Knipe, bobknipe@hotmail.com or 343-5991.
