Kay and Bill McDonald as acoustic singer/songwriters travel along the Canal on the house boat for four days, with instruments in tow and embraced the canal side towns and villages along the towpath. Kay and Bill’s group The “Old Hippies” will provide musical entertainment for the peoples of these communities and surrounding areas, while utilizing the beautiful parks and areas along the Erie Canal. The musical lineup will include original compositions by the musicians, folk tunes about the canal as well as various well known songs that comprise their repertoire. Songs that depict the essence of the feelings, perceptions and memories of the peoples of the communities visited is the focus of the bicentennial celebration.
