Only one arrest reported at Iron Maiden and Alice Cooper show at Darien

By Howard B. Owens

Iron Maiden and Alice Cooper performed Monday night at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center.

There was only one arrest and one alleged underage drinking citation issued in connection with the show by the legendary rockers.

Jose D. Garcia, 39, of South Roberts Road, Dunkirk, is charged with disorderly conduct after allegedly causing a disturbance in the parking lot.

Ryan J. Gill, 18, of Wykoff Road, Scipio, received a citation for allegedly consuming alcohol under age 21.

I remember when Alice Cooper was new and his act was very controversial. I never saw him in concert, but at the time I thought his antics and his ghoulish makeup was outrageous. It's quite tame by today's standards. But of course, I never saw Little Richard in concert either, but I'll bet back in the heydey of Rock 'n' Roll he was whacked.

Billie, I did see Alice Cooper in concert when I was young, trust me, he could have kept pace with today's acts.

Now, I listen to his syndicated radio show every Saturday night, what amazes me, is that someone who is very intellectual when you hear him speak, could be so wild and wooley when he was young

So Frank you went to the concert? I have been to many rock concerts at Darien Lake with older rock bands and the young crowd is still present in a sizable force! BTW, you argued more than just underage drinking as I recall. So, with your view on users/abusers, would not that include all ages. Also, take the blindfold off or something! Or look over your head. No, sense arguing with a you if, your blinds are down.

John, my posts are my opinion, I don't see a difference between any dangerous drugs, so please join me in removing the blinders.
I certainly don't recall using age as a criteria for the basis of my opinion.
John, if you support alcohol use, thats fine with me, I know from living through the havoc that has been prevalent for most of my life, for many people, alcohol is the absolute most dangerous drug on this planet, Again. It is my opinion. the law is very unbalanced, I really am not interested in adults who jumped on the salts and spice, they will use what ever is available, legal or not, to get trashed on.
When the junkies hear of lethal heroin, they go out in droves to find it.
In a nutshell, I just don't understand why one drug with no intended purpose is better, or safer than another drug with no intended purpose?
Alcoholism is slow, it is disquised easily. it can start as a small pothole, but can turn into a sinkhole that swallows up everything that means anything to you.
