Lost and Found: A pair of compound bows

By Howard B. Owens

The Sheriff's Office is looking for the owner of a pair of compound bows and some accessories that go with the bows.

A Good Samaritan turned in the bows after finding the items on a roadway in Genesee County.

The bows were in carrying cases.

The items apparently fell from a moving vehicle.

Also found were three water containers and a gas can.

If anyone lost this type of property, contact Deputy Frank Bordonaro, 345-3000, ext. 3229.

UPDATE 8:34 a.m., Wednesday: The owner of the bows has recovered the lost items from the Sheriff's Office.

If it was poachers feeling heat from the long arm of the law and running from the scene of a crime, even though no one was chasing them, they are unlikely to lay claim to the evidence. Dust the bows for prints and run them through the National Data Base and if they come up clean and don't return to claim the property, give them to the Good Samaritan Guy so he can sell them at the Flea Market (if it is still there) in Clarence, next summer. - Judge Georgie

Someone does something nice and your reaction is to investigate to find out if the equipment was from a poacher? How about congratulating the Good Samaritan for being honest. There aren't a lot of honest people around these days.

I don't know. I thought that comment sections were for comments. No one said they had to make sense or anyone had to agree with them. Some of the time I hope you do, but most of the time I don't care one way or the other, I still love you. Yes, you and you and you and you and you and you and you and you too. Merry Happy Holidays y'all.
