Police asking for help in locating missing 13-year-old

By Howard B. Owens

Chelsea Darnley Emondt-Fauel is missing.

The young teenager from Batavia has gone missing before and is believed to be a runaway, but authorities are concerned about her safety and ask that anybody with information contact local law enforcement.

Chelsea was last seen on Dewey Avenue, Batavia, yesterday. She could still be in the area. She could have travelled to the Riverside area of Buffalo or to Niagara Falls.

The 13-year-old has brown hair and eyes, is 5'6" and 145 lbs.

If you have information that could assist Batavia PD in locating Chelsea, please call (585) 345-6350.

I'm her cousin. Her mom is dead (cancer and drugs) and her dad is a deadbeat. She lived with my parents for a few years along with her brother until her behavior got too far out of control. We told the social workers that this kind of thing was going to happen because she tried to do it while living at my parents house but they refused to listen to my parents and myself. Apparently they always choose to take the child's word over anyone else's. She should have been locked up a long time ago in some sort of a juvenile detention center to at least try to set her straight but for some reason the county social workers said that wasn't an option. Way to go Genesee County Department of Social Services. Thanks.

Sorry to hear that George, they say hindsight is 20/20. Nothing is more frustrating then trying to help someone and not only not succeeding, but having agencies meant to help, actually interfere and make the situation worse.
