Today's Poll: What should be done with Batavia's 160-year-old police HQ?

First, decide if you want to keep the City Police or dissolve it and let the County take over police protection.

If you want to keep the City Police, don't build a new facility that will take any new property off the tax rolls. The current location is already off the tax rolls.

Keep the police as close to the center of the City as possible.

If you move the police, make sure you have a plan for the old building.

Personally, if we keep the current police department, I would remodel the current building or add on to the fire department, depending on cost.

John,
The city police should become part of the county police dept. This is being done in many areas and is successful. It is foolish to have 3 police agencies in the area.
