PATRICK M. "PATSY" AVINO

Age 71, of Batavia, died peacefully Saturday morning August 27, 2016 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, his wife at his side. He was born March 25, 1945 in Batavia, NY a son of the late Patrick and Anna (Spadacino) Avino, also preceded in death by a sister, Joanne Gardner. 

Mr. Avino was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, he worked for many years as a welder for Conrail and finally retired from the Batavia VA Medical Center. He enjoyed his Harley Davidson and the trips and rides with his wife and friends, in his later years he spent his time gardening and tending to his prized tomatoes. Patsy was a true family man and will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and buddy to his four legged cat, Louie. 

Surviving is his beloved wife of 26 years, Carol (Passmore) Avino of Batavia; son, Timothy (Missy McClurg) Brown of Batavia; his pride and joy, granddaughter, Johnni Brown; sister, Patty (Roger) Laird, father-in-law, Keith Passmore, "Special Cuz", Jerry Condello, Jr. all of Batavia along with several nieces, nephews & cousins. 

The Avino family will be present from 4-7PM on Wednesday August 31 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC 4120 WEST MAIN STREET ROAD BATAVIA, NEW YORK 14020 where a Celebration of Patsy's Life will  begin at 7:00PM. He will be laid to rest upon the opening of the new veterans cemetery in Pembroke and memorials in his memory can be made to The Palliative Care Program @ Strong Memorial Hospital 601 Elmwood Ave. Po Box 687 Rochester, New York 14642.
