Adolf "Al" Brandl

Adolf "Al" Brandl, 74 of Clarence and formerly of Akron, passed away peacefully on Sunday (January 22, 2017) at Buffalo General Hospital.

He was born July 19, 1942 in Keibel, Germany, a son of the late Rudolf and Erna Ambrosius Brandl.

Mr. Brandl came to America in 1952 and became a U.S. citizen in 1962. He served his country with the U.S. Army from 1963-1966. He was known to many as the “Best Meat Cutter” who ever worked at Super Duper and Tops Markets, having owned his own Super Duper Store in the Buffalo. Al also played saxophone for the famous Brandl Brothers German Band, entertaining many at various parties and German Festivals.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Linda Zintl Brandl. Children, Lisa Ammon, Tony (Carol) Brandl, Kim (Mike) Holland and Karen (Bob Lang) Hawes. Grandchildren, Kari Ammon, Anthony, Cassandra, Cydney and Alex Brandl, Jack and Cooper Holland, Austin and Bryce Hawes. Brothers, Franz Brandl, Sigmund Brandl and John (Sandra) Brandl. Brother in-law, John (Carole) Zintl. Sisters in-law, Marlene Zintl and Frieda Brandl. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Jerry Brandl; sisters in-law, Annette Brandl and Emma Brandl.

There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are cordially invited to his Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday (January 26th), 11:00am at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 10950 Main St., Clarence NY. He will be laid to rest in Clarence Fillmore Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to a charity of the donor’s choice. Expressions of condolence may be shared with the family at: www.mcandrewfuneralhomes.net.
