Marian K. Merton

Marian K. Merton, 102 of Nanuet, NY and formerly of Batavia, passed away on Sunday (January 22, 2017) at the home of her daughter in Nanuet.

She was born November 29, 1914 in Auburn, New York to the late Edward and Jessie Kell.
 
Mrs. Merton worked over 30 years in food services in the Batavia Public Schools.   She was active in the 4-H and still participates in a dairy calf loan for young farmers.  Mrs. Merton will be most remembered for her sense of humor, love of her family and her baked goods.

She was the wife of the late Melvin J. Merton and mother of the late William J. Merton.  She was also the sister of the late Ramona Beals, Robert Kell, William Kell, Richard Kell and Edward Kell. 

Survivors include her loving daughters, Marjorie Campbell (William) of Nanuet, New York and Maryann McNaughton (Randall) of Sevierville, Tennessee.  She is also survived by her sister Frances Carson of Lancaster, New York, 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are cordially invited to share thoughts, condolences and fond memories on Saturday (January 28th) from 10am-12pm at the J. LEONARD MCANDREW FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2 BOGUE AVE., BATAVIA, NY, where a funeral service will commence at the conclusion of visitation at 12pm.

The family ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Meals on Wheels Rockland, 121 W Nyack Rd, Nanuet, NY 10954 and United Hospice of Rockland 11 Stokum Ln, New City, NY 10956.
