CORNELIA M. GAZDA
Age 80, of Cheektowaga formerly of Corfu, died Monday January 23, 2017 at Elderwood Skilled Nursing @ Cheektowaga. She was born September 13, 1936 in Buffalo, NY daughter of the late Francis and Belle (Graczyk) Krygier also preceded in death by her husband, Bernard J. Gazda in 2014; son, Brian J. Gazda; brothers, James (late Fran) Krygier and infant Francis Krygier.
Mrs. Gazda worked for many years alongside her husband and sons at York International and was member of St. Maximillian Parish in Corfu. She was former president and member of the Darien Seniors Group, enjoyed baking, loved to travel and raise her dogs. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first.
Surviving are her devoted children, Bernard F. (Laura) Gazda of Corfu, Karen (John) Kattato of Lima and Pamela McDivitt of Reston, VA; brother, Thomas (Joan) Krygier of CA; sister, Camille (Michael) Maciejewski of Hamburg; brother-in-law, Ted Gazda and sister-in-law, Alice Castiglione both of Cheektowaga; 6 grandchildren, Kelly (Anthony) Borrello, Michael Mustillo, Amanda, Allison & Connor Kattato, Evan McDivitt along with many nieces and nephews.
The Gazda family will be present from 4-8p.m. Thursday January 26, 2017, at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC 4120 West Main Street Rd. Batavia, where prayers will be recited 10a.m. Friday Jan. 27 followed by a 11a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Maximillian Kolbe Parish (Corfu Site). She will be entombed in the Morningstar Mausoleum at St. Adalbert's Cemetery in Lancaster and memorials in her memory can be made to Volunteers for Animals/Genesee County Animal Shelter 3841 West Main Street Rd. Batavia, NY.
