Mr. Mazzarella was a United States Air Force Veteran. He taught in the Perry Central Elementary School for 36 years and loved watching the Yellow Jackets, especially basketball and football. Mr. Mazzarella was a huge New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills Fan. He loved spending time on his land, lumbering, cutting wood and using his tractor. He enjoyed time spent on Silver Lake, driving his party boat and was a former Trustee at Silver Lake Institute. Joe enjoyed photography, riding his scooter and was an avid card player. He was proud to be Italian and proud to be from Perry, living there his entire life. His family was everything to him, he called his children “my magnificent 7” and he loved them all dearly.
He is survived by his dear Patricia (Askey) Mazzarella of Perry; children T. Paul Mazzarella of Lakeland, FL; Terry (Steve) Pierson of Perry; Tracy (Mark) Calvert of Venice, FL; Tina (Dave) Kramell of Wyoming; Vicki (Rob) Cicero Perry; Trini (Nick) Kuzmicki of Perry; brother Frank Mazzarella of Perry; 20 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, along with many, many nieces and nephews.
