Lisa Marie (Grill) Demmer, 38, went to be with the Lord on June 21, 2017, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She traded in her tortured body for a shiny, new pair of wings. She was a devoted wife to Michael Demmer, who was by her side as she passed. Lisa and Michael spent their time together between Western New York and Northeast Tennessee. Lisa earned her Nursing degree and spent her life serving others as a nurse in both public and private duty. She especially loved caring for special needs pediatric patients, for which she received advanced training.
Lisa was preceded in death by her Maternal Grandmother, Betty Kabel and her Paternal Grandfather, Frederick Grill, who was her “G”. There is no doubt that “G” was there to welcome her with open arms.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Demmer, of Corfu, NY, her daughters, who were her life; Elizabeth Sampson of Corfu, NY; Cynthia, Katherine, and Patty Sampson of Mountain City, TN, and step- daughter Jessica Demmer of Holly, NY, also a step-son Christopher Demmer. She also leaves behind her father, George Grill of Charlotte, NC, her loving Grandmother, Patricia Grill of Surgoinsville, TN., brothers and sisters: George Grill of Mountain City, TN, Justin Grill of Charlotte, NC, and Shelby Ruhland and Brian James of Corfu, NY. Lisa also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her, but shall keep her alive in their hearts through memories of their times together.
The family will hold a private memorial to celebrate Lisa’s life.
