Beloved wife, loving mother, caring grandmother, lost her battle with cancer on Sunday afternoon July 19, 2015 at United Memorial Medical Center, she was 67 and resided in Batavia. She was born July 26, 1947 in Batavia, NY a daughter of the late Edward J. and Rosalind (Zeis) Hayes also preceded in death by two brothers, Gary & Robert Hayes.
Mrs. Cifelli was a member of Resurrection Parish, enjoyed pottery, collecting antiques, gardening, cooking and baking. She loved animals, especially her four legged companions, Molly & Maggie. Nancy was a true inspiration for all that knew her, she took her illness in stride, battling every setback always with a smile on her face and a kind word to share.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, James J. Cifelli of Batavia; daughter, Lori (Kevin) Horkey of MN and their children, Brooke C. & Logan James; step-son, Stephen (Chris) Cifelli of WA and their son, Dylan; step-daughter, Debra (Roger) Toal of SC and their children, Josh, Mitchell & Nathan; brother, Thomas (Brigid) Hayes of Batavia; sister, Patricia (William) Cultrara of Batavia; sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Richard) Oshea of LeRoy; brother-in-law, Thomas (Karren) Cifelli of Warsaw along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will be present from 4:00 ~ 8:00 PM on Wednesday June 22 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC 4120 WEST MAIN STREET ROAD BATAVIA, NEW YORK 14020 where prayers will be recited 9:30 AM Thursday July 23 followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial Resurrection Parish (St. Mary's Site). She will be laid to rest in Grand View Cemetery and memorials in her memory are requested to Crossroads House 11 Liberty Street Batavia, New York or Genesee Cancer Assistance, Inc. 16 Bank Street Batavia, New York 14020.
