IRENE M. GIESLER ~ Batavia
Age 99, died Friday morning December 22, 2017 at home. She was born June 1, 1918 in Akron, NY, a daughter of the late Chester and Minnie (Bieser) Swarts, also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elton Giesler; sister, Gladys Swarts; brother, Leon Swarts; daughter-in-law, Terry Giesler and brother-in-law, Dave Gerhardt.
Mrs. Giesler worked for many years at the Genesee Country Nursing Home, avid gardener, enjoyed word searches and most of all time spent with her family.
Surviving are her loving children, Ronald (Kathy) Giesler of Arizona, Larry (Debbie) Giesler of Arizona, Mark Giesler of Batavia, Jean (Wilford) Wollenschlager of Texas, Cheryl (Paul) Goodell of Oakfield, Deborah (Gary) Harkness of Batavia; sister, Dorothy Gerhardt of Rochester; 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Giesler's wishes were for funeral services to be held privately by the family, she will be laid to rest in Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Corfu and memorials in her memory are suggested to Genesee Cancer Assistance, Inc. 127 North Street Batavia, New York 14020.
