Deforest William "Bill" Kelsey

Deforest William “Bill” Kelsey, 84, of Alexander passed away peacefully on December 26, 2017 at the Le Roy Village Green. Bill was born on May 1, 1933 in Alexander to the late Erle and Fannie (Williams) Kelsey. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by the love of his life; Janet (McNall) Kelsey, who passed away on Sept. 8, 2016; his infant brother Donald Kelsey, brother Daniel Kelsey; sister Hazel Miller.

Bill was a lifelong resident of Alexander. He had a love for farming and tractors where he worked for several places fixing and repairing farm equipment. He loved the outdoors including fishing, hunting, camping, playing cards and hanging out at Kelsey’s Pond. Bill was a lifetime member of the Alexander Fire Department and the Alexander United Methodist Church. Bill will be truly missed by his family and all that knew him.   

Dad will be sadly missed by his loving children; Bruce (Amy) Kelsey, Sharon (John) Riley, Linda (Michael) Brade, Diane (Steven) Kujawski, Michele (Mark Fitch) Papke; brothers Robert (Peggy) Kelsey and Gordon (Gayleen) Kelsey; sister in law Marjorie Kelsey; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family and friends may call on Saturday December 30, 2017 from 10:00AM – 1:00PM at Marley Funeral Home, LLC. 135 Main Street Attica, New York 14011. A 1:00PM Funeral Service will immediately follow visitation at the Funeral Home. Bill will be laid to rest at a later date.
