Gerald Alfred Gaylord

LeRoy/Webster ~ Gerald Alfred Gaylord, age 70, of Webster, formerly of LeRoy, passed away early Sunday morning (January 7, 2018) at home in the loving presence of his family.

    

He was born June 1, 1947 in Niagara Falls, N.Y., a son of the late Harry and Ruth Botts Gaylord.

     Gerald was a 1966 graduate of LeRoy High School.  Upon graduation, he started working at LeRoy Industries and when the company changed to Automotive Corp., he moved with the company to Batavia until his retirement in 2009 after 43 years of service.  He was a past coach for the LeRoy T-shirt league, past cub scout leader for Pack 22 and past president of the Holy Name Society at St. Peter's Church in LeRoy.  He was also a life member (3rd degree) of Council 2936 Knights of Columbus in LeRoy and a 4th degree member of Assembly 755 in Batavia.

     He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Donna Jo (Sherman) Gaylord; his sons, Gerald A. Gaylord II of Webster and Douglas A. (Kimberly) Gaylord of Webster; his granddaughters, Brittany (Thomas Quinn) Gaylord of Hamlin, Alexis Gaylord of Webster and Olivia Gaylord of Webster; great-grandson, Thomas James Quinn Jr. of Hamlin; siblings, Margaret "Peggy" (Nicholas) Falanga of Batavia, Carol (James) Brandes of Stafford, Robert (Millie) Gaylord of Stafford and Paul (Michelle) Gaylord of Batavia; sister-in-law, Patricia (James "Eddie") Kidman of Greece; goddaughter, Samantha (Ginge) Maguire of San Diego, CA, along with many nieces & nephews and great-nieces & great-nephews.

     In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his mother and father-in-law, Donald and Ruth Sherman.

     Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4 ~ 7 P.M. at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19), LeRoy.  His Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter’s Church, 44 Lake St., LeRoy.
