Allen "Mac" Mclean Mitchell passed peacefully to the arms of his wife Meredith on January 8, 2018 after a brief illness.  He was born August 30, 1931 in Haverhill, New Hampshire to John David Mitchell and Marion Philbrick. He was joined in marriage to Meredith Dean Newell on September 11, 1953. He was predeceased by his loving wife Meredith Mitchell and a son Allen M. Mitchell Jr.; his sisters Helena and Russell Kelso, Mary and George Frazier, and a brother John and Gertrude Mitchell all of Monroe, New Hampshire,

He was a farmer for most of his life and was well known for his herdsman skills. He retired from farming and went to work as a custodian for Mary Hitchcock Hospital and Lyndon Institute where he finally retired at the age of 75. He took great pride in any job he held and always gave his absolute best. He was also an avid jokester and most of us have been the target of his spontaneous pranks. He was a dedicated gardener and no weeds were allowed. He also enjoyed woodworking that he did with our mother as a team and together they have given us many gifts to enjoy and remember them by.

He is survived by his daughters Mary E. Mitchell and Katherine "Kim" and Gary Guralny both of Attica, New York and a daughter-in-law Sonja Mitchell of Tonawanda, New York; sister Marion (Victor) Czarnecki of CT; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter, all of whom were greeted and welcomed to the family by his wonderful smile just for them, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday January 27, 2018 from 12:00-2:00PM at Marley Funeral Home, LLC. 135 Main Street Attica, New York 14011. A 2:00PM Celebration of Life will immediately follow visitation at the Funeral Home.
