SUE G. ZAMBITO ~ Batavia 

Age 86, of Batavia, formerly of Elba, NY went peacefully home to the Lord on Friday afternoon April 27, 2018 at the Premier Genesee Center surrounded by her family. She was born May 2, 1931 in Batavia a daughter of the late Charles and Pauline (Monachino) Zambito also preceded in death by brothers & sisters-in-law, Frank (Josephine), Paul (Janet), Anthony (Rose), Joseph (Fran) and Charles Zambito; sisters & brothers-in-law, Anna (Frank) Mingione, Philippa Zambito, Pauline (Charles) Augello and Rose (Charles) Dowd.                                                                                                                                                                                 

Sue was a life-long educator who began her career teaching kindergarten at the Pearl Street Elementary School in 1953 and spent the next 40 years with the Oakfield-Alabama School District. Her faithful service to the children she taught was second to none, she was beloved by all and upon her retirement in 1993 she was bestowed "Teacher of the Year" by the Academy of Honors. Sue was also a faithful and lifelong member of St. Padre Pio Parish in Elba. 

She is the last of her siblings and lovingly survived by a sister-in-law, Alta Zambito along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews and dear friends. 

Sue's family will be present from 3-7pm Monday April 30, 2018 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020 where prayers will be recited 9:15am Tuesday May 1 followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Padre Pio Parish (Elba Site), Celebrated by Rev. Ted Bocianowski. She will be laid to rest with her parents in St. Joseph's Cemetery and in lieu of flowers memorials in her memory can be made to the church.
