John Nelson Pocock

John Nelson Pocock, 71 of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Friday (April 27, 2018) at Rochester General Hospital.

He was born November 24, 1946 in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late Nelson and Elsie Richenberg Pocock.

John was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served his country during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of the Polish Falcons, VFW Veness Strollo Post and American Legion Post #332. He was a huge fan of Penn State, NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt Racing and enjoyed golfing, mowing the lawn and drinking ice tea. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his dog “Ella”. John will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Pfeiffer Pocock of Batavia. Son, Paul (Roxanna) Pocock of Tucson, AZ. Daughter, Tara Pocock of Victor, NY. Grandchildren, Nathan and Brody Pocock. Sister, Elsie Ruth Hinz and nieces and nephews.

Please join the family in celebrating John’s life on Friday (May 4th) from 4-7pm at the Polish Falcons Club, 123 South Swan St., Batavia, with a special toast honoring John at 5:30pm.
