Richard was a self-employed businessman in Batavia for many years. He was an avid collector of many things. He was huge amusement park enthusiast with a love for rollercoasters. Richard will be forever remembered as a loving father and grandfather who always cared for others.
He is survived by his daughter; Sylvia (Jon) Smith of Batavia; 3 grandchildren Tapanga (Joel Jackowski) Wheaton, Kurstin Smith and Jon Smith Jr.

An 11:00AM Graveside Service will be held on Monday the 19th at Grandview Cemetery in Batavia where he will be laid to rest.
