Mildred I. Hakes, 76, of Attica, New York passed away on Thursday August 20, 2015 at Rochester General Hospital. She was born September 3, 1938 in Wellsville, New York to the late Vernon (Margaret Moyer) Scoville. Mildred is preceded in death by her brother Lewis Scoville; brothers-in-law James Brasington, Jerry Fox, sister-in-law Mary Gloff and Julia Fish.
 
Mildred attended school in Shinglehouse where she grew up. She settled in Franklinville with her husband. Mildred moved to the Attica area with her husband’s work. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being a homemaker as it allowed her to raise her family. Mildred also enjoyed crocheting. She was very outgoing and made friends wherever she went as well as locally.
 
She is survived by her loving husband Richard Hakes of Attica; sons William (Barbara) Hakes of Batavia, Thomas (Bobbi) Hakes of Attica; sisters Phyllis Brasington of Batavia, Betty (Ron) Cornell of Alleghany, NY, Sharie Fox of Newfane; brother-in-law Roger Hakes; sisters-in-law Maureen Scoville of Batavia, Betty (Fred) Hackett of Little Valley; grandchildren Josh (Rachael) Hakes, Justin (Brittany Stewart) Hakes, Tim Voges of Batavia, Grant (Amanda Stasiuk) Voges of Romulus along with many loving nieces and nephews.
 
Friends are invited to call on Sunday August 23, 2015 from 2:00-6:00PM at Marley Funeral Home, LLC 135 Main Street Attica, New York 14011. A 1:00 PM Funeral Service will be held on Monday August 24, 2015 at Marley Funeral Home, LLC. She will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery.
