Mary Agnes Petrie Zinke

Mary Agnes Petrie Zinke, 99 of Attica, a loving and devoted mother of four children, died August 22, 2015 at East Side Nursing Home in Warsaw. Mary was born October 9, 1915 in Attica and resided at the family homestead for over forty years. She was daughter of the late Henry (Emma Schum) Petrie. Mary is preceded in death by her husband Warren G. Zinke and granddaughter Julie Kellner. She was sister of the late (Ethel) Sister Helen Agnes, SSJ, (Julius) Rev. Capistran Petrie O.F.M, Arthur and Robert Petrie. 

Mary Agnes and her late husband, Warren G. Zinke, married on June 22, 1949 and they resided with their children in Attica. Mary Agnes was a lifelong member of St. Vincent de Paul church and was active in many organizations in the parish, and served on the Bishop’s Committee for over 48 years and taught religion class for 20 years. Mary’s work career included positions with Feed and Grain Brokers in Buffalo for fourteen years, Rand McNally, Hardie Insurance Company and Welcome Wagon. While her children were young, she particularly enjoyed her role as Welcome Wagon Representative serving the community of Attica.    

She is survived by her children, Robert (Elaine) Zinke of Waynesville, NC; Ann (Keith) Almeter of Attica; Mary Lou (Jack) Kellner of Attica; John (Holly) Zinke of Stafford. Mary was blessed with twelve grandchildren, Eric Almeter, Sarah Almeter Spink, Alyson Almeter Romesser, Paul Zinke, Leah Zinke Woody, Rachel Zinke Fenner, Jenna Kellner Austell, Jill Kellner Seymour, Alyssa Zinke Almeter, Adam Zinke, Andrea Zinke and 15 great-grandchildren, along with many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.

There will be no prior calling hours. A 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday September 1, 2015 at Sts. Joachim and Anne Parish 50 East Ave. Attica, NY 14011. She will be laid to rest in St. Vincent’s Cemetery.
