Harold N. Brown

Harold N. Brown, 77, of Alexander passed away unexpectedly August 24, 2015 at home on the farm.  He was born August 27, 1937 Batavia, New York to the late Norman (Christine Jensen) Brown. He is preceded in death by his sister Marie Brown.

Harold was a 4th generation owner and operator of Valley View Farm which has been passed down to his children and grandchildren. He was active in several farm organizations. Harold was also a lifetime member of both the Alexander United Methodist Church and Alexander Fire Department, and was also on the Alexander Town Board of Appeals. Harold loved woodworking and could often be found in his shop. What Harold loved the most however, was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Marcia (Gabriel) Brown of Alexander; son Lee (Nancy) Brown of NC; 5 daughters Melinda (Richard) Robbins of CA, Arlene (Chip) Fenwick of MD, Jean (Douglas) Pennoyer of FL, Marcia (Paul) Hirsch of Alexander, Kathleen (Jeff Geer) Brown of Alexander; sisters Shirley Lear of NH, Eleanor Stone of Naples, NY, Norma (Norman) Bartz of Alexander, Peggy (Joe) Pfalzer of Alexander; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday August 27, 2015 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Marley Funeral Home, LLC 135 Main Street Attica, New York 14011. A 10:00 AM Funeral Service will be held on Friday August 28, 2015 at Alexander United Methodist Church 10540 Main St Alexander, New York 14005. He will be laid to rest in West Bethany Cemetery.
