An accident with possible injuries is reported in the westbound lane of the Thruway in the area of mile marker 384.

UPDATE 9:37 a.m.: A first responder reports a pickup truck with severe damage to the passenger side. There's a semi-truck involved, too. No word on injuries.
UPDATE 9:42 a.m.: Landing zone being set up on the Thruway for Mercy Flight. The Thruway will be closed for the landing. Once the helicopter has left, firefighters will clean up the roadway of accident debris and then open one lane.
UPDATE 10 a.m.: Mercy Flight is in the air. One lane being reopened. Mercy Flight is headed to Strong Memorial Hospital.
UPDATE 10:11 a.m.: Both lanes open. State Police and Thruway Authority responsible for traffic. Le Roy fire back in service.
A possible serious injury rollover accident with entrapment is reported at Telephone and Perry roads. Pavilion Fire Department and Mercy medic #1 are called to respond.
UPDATE 2:08 p.m.: Minor injuries, but subject is unable to exit vehicle.
A tractor-trailer is reported in a ditch off Ellicott Street Road and Starr Road, Pavilion.

UPDATE 5:43 a.m.: Pavilion is back in service. A wrecker requested to the scene. The trailer contains 24,000 pounds of food product.
A two-car accident with injuries is reported at the exit 48A toll booth of the Thruway. Pembroke and Indian Falls fire departments are responding, along with an ambulance as mutual aid from Darien.
A one-vehicle rollover accident is reported on Batavia Elba Townline Road.
The driver is reportedly conscious and alert and standing up inside the vehicle.

The driver of a Nissan Rogue who was involved in an accident shortly before 2 p.m. on Sunday at Oak Street and Park Road in Batavia has been cited for failure to yield the right of way on a left turn.
The Genesee County Sheriff's Department issued a press release stating that Marilea Greean, 39, was issued a traffic ticket following an investigation of the accident and she is to appear in City Court at 9 a.m. on Feb. 10.
Greean was southbound on State Route 98 (Oak Street) when she attempted to turn eastbound onto the Thruway as Kathy Birge, 69, was headed northbound the same road in a Chevrolet Cruze. The vehicles collided head on in the middle of the intersection and Greean's Rogue overturned.
Greean was extricated by city firefighters and taked by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Birge was transported to UMMC for evaluation.
The case was investigated by Batavia PoliceOfficer James DeFreze, assisted by Officer Daniel Coffey.
Another motor-vehicle accident is reported on Route 490. This one is in the westbound lane, also at mile marker 1. A vehicle went off the road and struck a tree. Unknown injuries. Bergen and Le Roy fire departments and Le Roy medics are responding.
UPDATE 11:33 a.m.: Responders report finding no such vehicle anywhere in the area. The assignment is back in service.
A rollover accident with injuries is reported on the eastbound Route 490 at about mile marker 1. Bergen and Le Roy fire departments are responding, along with an ambulance from Bergen and one from Caledonia, mutual aid.
UPDATE 11:18 a.m.: An engine and crew from Pavilion are called to fill in at Le Roy's fire station.
UPDATE 11:20 a.m.: Le Roy command requests the Pavilion crew to stage in their own quarters instead.
A motor-vehicle accident with injuries is reported in Le Roy at East Main and Church streets. Le Roy fire and ambulance are responding.
A rollover accident with injuries and entrapment is reported at the intersection of Park Road and Oak Street. City firefighters are responding along with Mercy medic #1.
UPDATE 1:55 p.m.: The city's third platoon is requested to stand by in fire headquarters.
UPDATE 2:15 p.m.: A female is being transported to UMMC. Another patient was just extricated from the vehicle.
UPDATE 2:21 p.m.: Two vehicles were involved, a sedan and a minivan with Kentucky plates. Both have heavy front-end damage. The female driver of the sedan was transported to UMMC. The female driver of the minivan was extricated and is now is an ambulance awaiting transport to a hospital; she is conscious and alert but said to be in a lot of pain. The minivan she was trapped in, landed on its side. Firefighters had to cut off the vehicle's roof to get to her.
UPDATE 2:33 p.m.: Batavia Police Sgt. Dan Coffey said preliminary findings indicate a Chevy Cruze, which is a compact sedan, had a green light as it traveled northbound on Oak Street (Route 98). A Nissan Rogue, which is a compact SUV, was southbound on Oak Street with a green light when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto the Thruway entrance. Coffey said it appears the driver of the Nissan failed to yield the right of way. A driver may be cited, pending completion of the investigation. Impairment from drugs and/or alcohol is not a factor in the accident. The driver of the Nissan was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, primarily for precautionary reasons, Coffey said. Although the Nissan had Kentucky plates, the driver is a local resident and the Nissan is believed to be a rental, Coffey noted.
A motor-vehicle accident with injuries is reported in the area of 9468 Alleghany Road, Darien.
That's near the Pizza Pantry, just outside the Village of Corfu.
There are two vehicles involved. One is out of the intersection, but the other is disabled and blocking.

The caller reports she was unable to get close enough to check on occupants. She said headlights were on and then shut off.

A car vs. tractor-trailer (or maybe a tow truck) accident is reported in the area of 200 S. Swan St., Batavia.

UPDATE 10:29 p.m.: An SUV hit a parked tow truck. The vehicle's passenger side was peeled open bow to stern like a sardine can, but there were no injuries. The accident is under investigation and it's yet to be determined if there will be any charges. What caused the vehicle to hit the truck, whether the driver didn't see it, or the driver swerved for some reason, is unknown at this time.

A food truck has rolled over at 8715 Lake Street Road, Le Roy. The driver is out and complaining of minor injuries. Le Roy fire and ambulance are responding.
A one-vehicle rollover accident is reported in the area of 1855 Lewiston Road, Alabama.

It's believed the injuries are minor.
UPDATE 7:10 p.m.: The address has been changed to 2300 Lewiston Road.
An accident is reported at 127 Jackson St., between Morton Avenue and Maple Street, and there is possible entrapment and perhaps injuries. City fire and Mercy medics are responding.
UPDATE 7:08 p.m. (by Howard): Two vehicles involved. One person transported to UMMC. One vehicle received front-end damage and the other vehicle had a banged-in door on the passenger side. Firefighters needed to pry open the driver-side door and help the driver from the vehicle, who was then loaded onto a stretcher. Police had not yet determined the cause of the accident. Jackson Street has a dusting of snow covering a thin layer of ice.
