Colleen Ann “Nina” Hernandez

Rochester - Colleen Ann “Nina” Hernandez, 28, of Rochester, an employee at Panera Bread Bakery Co. in Rochester, died Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at her home.

Nina was born April 29, 1988 in Rochester, a daughter of Alison (Marcos) Bussard Hernandez of Oakfield and Timothy Lawrence of Conesus.

She was an avid out-of-doors person and was known as being Happy-go-lucky.  

Along with her parents, she is survived by her grandfather, Willard (Betty) Bussard of VA; her husband, Ismael Hernandez of Mexico; 3 children, Isaiah Hernandez, Yasmine Hernandez and Zacarias Loaeza Hernandez all of Mexico; 3 sisters, Crystal Lawrence of Oakfield, Rachel Rojas of Gasport and Ashley Marcos of Hamilton, OH; a brother, Isail Hernandez of Oakfield; an aunt, Evelyn Meyers of FL and an uncle, Steven Bussard of Batavia; 11 nieces and nephews.

Rose J. Antinore

Rose J. Antinore, 97, of Le Roy, formally of Batavia passed away peacefully on Thursday June 23, 2016 at the Le Roy Village Green. She was born on November 12, 1918 in Batavia to the late Felix and Antoinette (Parrinello) Marchese. She is predeceased by her husband Samuel Antinore who passed away in 1975; a daughter Antoinette Antinore; daughter in law Betty Antinore; brothers Joseph, Anthony and Samuel Marchese; sister Marie Tiberio.

She was the past owner of the Batavia Open Air Market with her husband Sam and son Vincent. Rose was a past member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church. She was an avid dancer and loved to work, retiring at the age of 90, but above all else she loved her family.

Rose is survived by her son Vincent (Susan) Antinore of Batavia; a brother Louis (Joann) Marchese of Batavia; sister Katherine Cianfrini of Batavia; 7 grandchildren, Timothy (LeAnne) Antinore, Christine (James) Saraceni, Karen (James) Merica, Samuel (Lisa) Antinore, Shannon (Sean) Jessop, Shawna (Chris) Weicher and Michael (Kim) Murphy; 18 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

Patricia A. Ruge

Bergen - Patricia A. Ruge, 73, of Bergen, went to be with our Lord at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday (June 16, 2016) at Unity Health System – Parkridge Hospital ICU in Greece.

She was born October 10, 1942, to the late Anthony and Laura (Ruffino) Spadacino in Batavia.

Patti was a sweet, loving, caring and feisty wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, step-mother, step-grandmother, and sister.

She is survived by her husband, who still loves her, Allen Ruge of Bergen. The two were married June 26, 1982; three sons, David (Mary) Post, Frank (Christine) Post, and Daniel (Dorothy) Post; step-daughter, Tanya (Roy) Hafner; step-son, Shane Ruge; two sisters, Sharon Spadacino, and Mary Snyder; a brother Michael (late Betty) Spadacino of LeRoy. 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild also survive along with nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Robert Post.

She most recently worked as a Home Care Aid in the Bergen area but spent the past 10 years at home.

Nina L. Hall

Nina L. Hall, 92, of Batavia passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 21, 2016 at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. She was born on December 22, 1923 in Basom, the daughter of the late Earl & Mary (Rein) Hall. Nina is predeceased by sister and brother in law Erma and Glenn Maxwell, nephew Lee Hall and niece Sandra Macrae.

Nina graduated from Oakfield High School in 1940 and attended RBI for six months. She retired from the personnel Dept. of the VA after working there for 39 years. Nina was an avid bowler and went to the National Bowling Tournaments for many years. She was a fan of the Cleveland Indians and attended many of their games in Cleveland, also enjoyed playing cards and being with her family.

She is survived by her sister Ruth M. (Earl) Geer of Alexander; sisters in law Jane (late Everett) Hall of Basom, Verna (late Lloyd) Hall of Batavia; nephews Kevin (Sue) Geer of Hamlin, Keith (Ela) Geer of TX, Jeffrey (Kathy) Geer of Alexander, Lynn Hall of Basom, David (Betty) Hall of Basom; nieces Cheryl Totten of Basom, Darlene (Gary) Anderson of Basom, along with many great nieces and nephews.

JoAnn M. Fisher-Plath, 60, of Batavia passed away on Monday June 20, 2016.  She was born on July 8, 1955 in Batavia to the late Baldon and Gladys (Valery) Palaszynski.  She is predeceased by her loving husband Daniel “Boots” Plath.

JoAnn was a Sales Associate at Wal-Mart in Batavia.  She loved gardening, but above all else she was a proud mother of two children, a loving wife and a beloved friend to many.

She is survived by her two children; Dan’l Fisher of Batavia and Kelly Fisher of Kailua, HI; brothers Roger Palaszynski of Batavia and Ronald Palaszynski of Stafford; nephew James and niece Jamie Palaszynski along with her great niece Kyah Way.

Richard Allen Davis Sr.

Richard Allen Davis Sr., age 51, of Castile passed away on Monday June 20th at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester surrounded by his family. Richard was born on October 23, 1964 in Dallas, Texas a son of the late James and Anna Lou (Parker) Davis. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by a sister; Linda Martin, brother; Montie Davis and Grandson Richard Allen Davis III.

Richard was a self employed carpenter. He enjoyed spending time with family especially with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife: Lorraine (Chapman) Davis whom he married on August 5, 2013; 3 daughters Brandi (Jeremy LaFrance) Davis of Perry, Melissa (Justin) Carpenter of Pike, Richandra (Wilfredo) Ortiz of Ft. Reiley, KS.,; 5 sons Richard (Carrie Dibble) Davis Jr. of Warsaw, Mitchell Chapman III of Castile, Brandon Flake of Wellsville, Aaron Mathews of Castile and Devin Mathews of Castile, 2 sisters: Deborah Barrett and Kathy Martin both of San Antonio, TX., 3 brothers: Larry Hulo of Florida, James (Susie) Davis II of Castile, David (Laurie) Davis of Hinesville, GA., 13 grandchildren: Donovan and Rylee Bush, Laya, Temperance and Thaddaeus Davis, Jade, Luke and Lili Carpenter, Domique Davis, Julian and Joseph Espinosa, Maximus and Jonathon Ortiz, along with many nieces and nephews.

Robert D. Meisner

Batavia - Robert D. Meisner, 84, of Batavia, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016 at United Memorial Medical Center.

Mr. Meisner was born March 30, 1932 in Attica, a son of the late Donald and Irma Posvary Meisner.

A member of the USSSA, Bob was a member of the Umpire Association through the high school and umpired for girls’ softball for over 20 years. He was a member and past president of the Hairdressers Association and former director of the Soap Box Derby for 20 years. He enjoyed camping, especially at Upper Tupper Lake, was accomplished in woodworking and was the go-to guy for any household repairs. Along with his wife Joyce, they were the proprietors of NorthVine Beauty Salon for over 55 years. He will be remembered by many for his compassion and giving spirit.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Hoover Meisner, whom he married October 1, 1955; his children, Paul Meisner of Batavia, Don Meisner of San Antonio, Texas and Mary (Michael) McCarthy of Batavia; his grandchildren, Joe (Desa Rae) Pastore, Stephanie Pastore, Brian (Kristine) McCarthy, Sarah (Greg) Emerson, Christina Duralde, Alicia, Brandon and Linda Eleanor "Ellee" Meisner; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dick Meisner of Denver, Colorado and Tom Meisner of Attica; his sister, Sally (Edwin) Schoenthal of Batavia and several nieces and nephews.

He is the grandfather of the late David McCarthy and step-brother of the late Jack Sheehan.

Edith Wade

Batavia -- Edith Wade, 76, of Batavia, passed away Thursday (June 16, 2016) at Highland Hospital, Rochester.
 
Edith was born in Batavia, March 20, 1940, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Helen Dart Baker. She was the mother of the late Scott Rhodes.
 
Edith was a member of the Cornerstone Church in East Pembroke and the Alexander “Happy Agers” Senior Citizens. She was an avid camper, loved working with plastic canvas, word search and her hummingbirds. Edith enjoyed going to parades, especially hearing the Alexander Fire Department Band. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.
 
Edith is survived by her loving husband, Gerald M. Wade; her son, Jeff (Jessica Chittenden) Rhodes; her daughter, Lynne (Carl) Homer; grandchildren, Aaron Hough, Brooke Rhodes and Holly Rhodes; sisters, Evelyn (Aden) Chaffer, Dorothy Jones, Lillian (late Morris) Bridge, Brenda (Alan) Hain and April (Charlie) Pelton; her step-children, Thomas (Nora) Wade, Christina Jones and Ted (Heidi) Wade; step-grandchildren, Noah Wade, Justin Wade, Lexi Jones and Tori Jones.

JOAN Y. MOBLEY

JOAN Y. MOBLEY Age 74, of Batavia, died Friday afternoon June 17, 2014 at her home while under the care of her loving family and Hospice. She was born July 8, 1941 in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late Joseph & Christnel (McKinnis) Alston, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Charlene Tartt and brother, Joseph Alston.

Mrs. Mobley worked at the Eastman Kodak Co. and raised 7 children along with being a “mom” to all the neighborhood children. She was an absolutely wonderful mother, loved to shop and go antiquing along with being a great cook.

Surviving is her beloved husband of 57 years, Tommie L. Mobley, Sr. of Batavia; loving children, Bobbie L. Mobley of Batavia, Tommie L. Mobley, Jr. of Rochester, Carmen E. Vega of LeRoy, Michael T. (Renee) Mobley of Maryland, Marcus L. (Fawn) Mobley of  Batavia, Barbara J. Filbert of Batavia and Jeanine M. Mobley of Batavia; sisters, Emma Alston and Ann Williams both of Buffalo; sister-in-law, Katie Alston of Arcade along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The Mobley family will be present from 4-8PM on Wednesday June 22, 2016 at the MICHAEL S. Robert J. "Bob" Wiedrich

Robert (Bob) J. Wiedrich, 86, of Jamestown, formerly of Batavia, Passed away peacefully on June 18th, 2016.  Born the eldest son to the late Chester and Ernestine Wiedrich of Oakfield on March 7, 1930.  He wed Mary H. Votry on April 16th, 1955.  Robert and Mary were inseparable for 59 years until Mary’s death on October 10, 2014.  He is also predeceased by brothers Gerald and Donald, a sister Shirley (Irving) Brumber; brothers-in-law Anthony Annunziata and Robert Votry. 

 Robert is survived by 2 sisters, Ruth (Joseph) Defazio of Syracuse and Elsie Annunziata of Lancaster, his children Diana (Douglas) German of Batavia, Scott Wiedrich of Jamestown, Lori Ingels of Chandler, AZ, sister in-law Lucille Votry,  grandchildren Christopher Dawson of Chandler, AZ and Timothy German of Buffalo, sister-in-law Nancy Wiedrich along with several nieces and nephews.   

 Robert was employed by Carborundum and AMAX Specialty Metals in Akron and Graham Manufacturing in Batavia until his retirement. He also served in the US Army National Guard during the Korean conflict and was an organ and tissue donor. Bob enjoyed playing golf, boating and sailing, spending time with his wife Mary at the casino and very difficult puzzles and games.  His gentle smile and genuine personality will be missed by everyone.

Dolores T. Yourkowski

Dolores T. Yourkowski, 86 of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday (June 14, 2016) at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home.

She was born August 8, 1929 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Stanley and Marion Giaujowski Twardowski.

Dolores along with her late husband were the former owners of the Pine Grove Inn. She also worked in the bakery of the former Jubilee Market in Batavia. She enjoyed socializing with friends, family and visiting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dolores also enjoyed visiting the casino's of Las Vegas when she had lived there and visiting friends on various lakes in the area. She was a member of the Glenn S. Loomis American Legion, Veness-Strollo VFW and the Polish Falcons.

She was the wife of the late George Yourkowski who passed away October 30, 1994 and mother of the late Marcia Anne Belli who passed away January 15, 2015. Dolores was also a sister of the late Genevieve Sobolewski, Ida Sobolewski, Tillie Jakubowski, Rosalyn Moscicki, Eleanor Matlasz, Frank Twardowski and Stanley Twardowski Jr.

Survivors include her son Gregory Yourkowski of Las Vegas, NV. Grandchildren, Georganne Lang of Batavia, J. Jason Mott of Vermont, Bridgette Yourkowski of Batavia and Travis Yourkowski of Batavia. She also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, nieces and nephews.

Alfred H. "Buz" Smith Jr.

East Bethany ~ Alfred H. "Buz" Smith Jr., age 65, of Little Canada Road, passed away Thursday evening (June 16, 2016) at home in the loving presence of his family.

    

 He was born March 6, 1951 in Springville, N.Y., a son of the late Alfred and Florence Wieder Smith.

     Buz will be remembered as a very quiet and generous man, who was totally devoted to his family.  He enjoyed working around his home and yard with his loving wife, Linda.  In addition to being a wonderful husband and father, he was extremely proud of being a terrific grandfather to his two granddaughters, who were the love of his life.

     He will be sadly missed by his loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Linda Mannix Smith; his sons, Jon (Ann) Smith of E. Bethany and David Smith of Pavilion; granddaughters, Rebecca and Addison; siblings, Nancy Sprissler of Albany, Carol (John) Fritton of Oswego, Jeanne Boden of Albany, Warren (Janet) Smith of Newark Valley, Carl (Carol) Smith of AZ and Bruce (Amy) Smith of NH, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Janet E. Norton

Newark - Janet E. Norton, 65, of Newark, passed away on Wednesday (June 15, 2016) at Rochester General Hospital.

She was born September 14, 1950 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Harold and Priscilla (Nichols) Norton.

Janet loved life, lived it to its fullest and was enjoying her early retirement from the New York State Department of Developmental services, in Newark, where she worked for 32 years.  Janet enjoyed fishing and travel, especially visiting her family and many friends. Janet loved her red Corvette and was a member of the Rochester Corvette Club & Western Kentucky Corvette Club. She was also a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary.  She was always there for family and friends and she will be greatly missed by all.

Survivors include two sisters, Jean A. (Robert J.) Hutchinson of Byron and Joanne R. Norton of East Bethany; a nephew, James Hutchinson of Auburn Hills, Michigan and a special friend, Joanne Fletcher and family of Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

Janet is predeceased by her beloved friend, Shirley Putzig.  

Calling hours are Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main St., Batavia.  Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday also at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maplelawn Cemetery, East Bethany.

David L. Reeb

Corfu -- David L. Reeb, 65, of Corfu, passed away at Buffalo General Hospital, Tuesday (June 14, 2016) with his family by his side.
 
Dave was born February 7, 1951, in Buffalo, a son of the late Louis M. Jr. and Irene Springer Reeb. He was the brother of the late Kathleen L. Reeb. 
 
Dave was retired from Jay E. Potter Lumber in Corfu. He was the best Papa ever and his greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren.
 
Dave was the loving husband of Frances (Grant) Reeb; wonderful father of Shawn (Miranda) Skeet and Yalonda Skeet; precious Papa of Haleigh Crandall, Elizabeth Skeet, Klaira Samanka, Alyssa Kozak and Gabriel Kozak; brother of Christine Thornley, Beverly Snider, Karen Reeb, Louis M. (Rustie) Reeb III, Donald (Kathy) Reeb and Andrew (Sherry) Reeb. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Elizabeth M. Covey

Batavia - Elizabeth M. Covey, 98, of Batavia, formerly of Oakfield, passed away Wednesday, (June 15, 2016) at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Facility, in LeRoy.

Mrs. Covey was born March 30, 1918 in Moriah, a daughter of the late Guy and Sarah (O'Neil) Wright.

Elizabeth was an avid reader and Yankees fan.  She also loved nature a working crossword puzzles.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was the wife of the late James Covey, who passed away in 1985.

Surviving are her children, Larry (Paula) Covey of Batavia, Michael (Meegon) Covey of Oxnard, CA, Judy (Joseph) Figliulo of St. Augustine, FL, Susan (Gary) Call of Stafford, Patricia (Robert) Bak of Batavia;  brothers, John (Andrea) Wright and Bill Wright both of Moriah; sisters, Mary (late Bill) Daha of Moriah, and Beulah (late Willard) Magoon of VT.  Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

She is preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Lang; brothers, Guy and Bob; sisters, Alice, Gertrude, Marguerite, and Thelma.

There will be no prior visitation.  Family and Friends are invited to attend Elizabeth’s Funeral Service on Saturday at 11 AM at Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 3500 Winton Place #4, Rochester, NY 14623-2860.  Burial will be in Cary Cemetery, Oakfield.
