Batavia – Mrs. Janet E. Radley, 86, of Batavia, formerly of Alexander, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Batavia Health Care Center in Batavia.

Mrs. Radley was born April 22, 1931 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Raymond and Beatrice Sprague Good.

She was a member of the Alexander United Methodist Church. 

She is survived by her children, Raymond Radley of Pavilion and Dawn Radley of Warsaw; two grandchildren, Amber Radley and Joshua Radley; four great-grandchildren, Jacob Radley, Hailey and Savannah Radley and Brayden Williams; three brothers, Richard (Alice) Good of Hurst, Texas, Gerald (Charlene) Good of Batavia and Larry (Susan) Good of Alexander; a sister, Anita Wight of Byron and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. 

She is the sister of the late Judy Good.

There are no prior visiting hours. Her memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 29^th at 6 p.m. at Alexander United Methodist Church, 10540 Main Street, Alexander. Died Thursday morning June 22, 2017 at his home while under the care of Hospice and his loving family at the age of 80. He was born July 10, 1936 in Oakfield a son of the late Charles and Ruth (Waldron) Carroll.                                                                                                                     

After graduating High School Marvin joined the US Air Force and served honorably in Okinawa, Japan. He retired from Graham Manufacturing.

Surviving is his loving wife of 56 years Loretta (Rinehardt) Carroll of Oakfield; children, Deborah (Michael) Urban of Corfu, Linda (David) Gray of Churchville and Charles (Vicki) Carroll of Oakfield; sister, Delorice Anderson of Attica; 8 grandchildren; 3great-grandchildren along with 3 nephews.

There is no prior visitation and funeral services will be held privately by his family, he will be laid to rest in Cary Cemetery, memorials in his memory are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

Age 77, died Thursday June 15, 2017 at Buffalo General Hospital. She was born July 12, 1939 in Batavia, NY to the late James and Mary (Sammarco) Pascucci, also preceded in death by her son, James Warlick, granddaughter, Nicole Warlick; siblings, Louis, Edith, Joseph, Dominic, John and Victor.

Jean was formerly employed at Bob Evans in Batavia, was a Crossroads House volunteer and loved her cats.

Surviving are her children, Beth Abrams of NC and Frank Warlick of CA; grandson, Dustin Warlick of FL; siblings, Irene Lewis of Sodus Point, James (Margaret) Pascucci of FL, Dolores Lanzo of Spencerport, Floyd Pascucci and Nicholas (Florence Pascucci of Stafford; sisters-in-law, Nancy Pascucci of Batavia, Mary Lou Pascucci of Rochester along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Stafford ~ Virginia C. Anchor, age 92, of E. Bethany-LeRoy  Road, passed away Friday evening (June 23, 2017) at Rochester General Hospital.

     Virginia will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who was devoted to her family.  She was also a long-time member of the LeRoy United Methodist Church where she was involved in many church activities. She and her husband, Robert, were also members of the church choir.

     In addition to her husband of 17 years, Robert Anchor, she is survived by her children; Douglas Michel (Vanza McEntee) of LeRoy, William Michel of LeRoy and Carol Ganshaw of LeRoy; her step-sons, Jeff (Vanessa) Anchor of Holley and David Anchor of SC; daughter-in-law, Linda Michel of Boston, MA; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Michel,  son, Robert Michel and her brother, Wayne Cheeseman.

Mrs. Burling was born August 14, 1926 in Ohatchee, AL, a daughter of the late Claud and Naomi (Martin) Pruitt.

Bertie was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.  She began her career at P.W. Minor Shoe Factory before moving on to G.E. Sylvania, and finally Batavia Dry Cleaners. 

Mrs. Burling loved to work in her flower gardens, make crafts, make and restore jewelry, crochet, and embroidery.

She is the wife of the late Jackson Burling.  The two were married on March 20, 1948; they spent 68 wonderful years together.  He passed away in October 2016.

Surviving is her daughter-in-law, Marlene (Bateman) Burling of Batavia; grandchildren, Preston (Tracy) Burling of Batavia, Lyle (Sharie) Burling of Scranton, PA, Christine (Greg) Smalley of Morrisville.  10 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Along with her husband and parents, Bertie is preceded in death by her son, James Autry Burling, and 7 of her siblings.

He was an ironworker with the local Union 6. Robert was known as “Attica Bob” by construction crews. He worked on numerous noteworthy local projects including the old War Memorial, the Skyway and the walls of the Attica Correctional Facility. In his early years, he owned a pool hall on Exchange St. where he acquired his nickname “Peanuts”. He was affectionately called “Tips” by close friends.  Robert served in the Korean War from 1950-53 as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, operating as an Artillery Gunner. His passion and love for turkey and deer hunting was immense and he was featured several times in local newspapers for his achievements. He also loved playing cards, going for car rides in the countryside, collecting antiques and quick drives to Hagen’s pool.

Robert was the father of Paula (Norman) Jones of Java Center, Raymond Shreder of Attica, Patricia (John) Ryan of Bennington, Joanne (Walter) Robinson of Attica and special godson Joseph Reynolds of Buffalo. Great joy came from the love of his grandchildren, Robert “Bo” Shreder, Denley “Big D” Ryan, Lewis “Little Lew” Ryan and Ruth “Ruthie” Robinson.

MSG Higgins was born August 29, 1980 in Batavia, a son of Michael and the late Roxanne L. (Hale) Higgins.

He enlisted into the United States Army in July of 1999 as an Aviation Operations Specialist.  He was stationed at Fort Wainwright, Alaska for 4 years serving in B Co 4^th BN 123^rd Aviation Regiment.  MSG Higgins transitioned into the New York Army National Guard (NYARNG) in February of 2004, serving in the 827^th Engineer Company until September of 2005.  He transferred to the 152^nd Engineer Company in September 2006, where he became a Construction Equipment Supervisor. He served in various assignments, ranging from squad leader to platoon sergeant / operations sergeant until transferring out of the unit in October 2016.  His last assignment was as the operations sergeant for the 153^rd Troop Command (Brigade). 

He responded to numerous disasters within NYS during his time with the NYARNG to include Hurricane Irene, Hurricane Sandy, and the November 2014 Snow Storm to name a few.  In addition, he was instrumental in the success of the 152^nd Engineer Company throughout numerous difficult training events over his 10 years with the company, to include joint overseas events, which resulted in his Company being among the most highly trained in the state.

His achievements include: Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal x2, Army Achievement Medal x6, Army Good Conduct Medal x4, National Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon x3, Army Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon, Aviation Badge, Driver/Mechanics Badge, and NYS Humane Service to NYS Medal x3.

Apart from his service in the Army, Chuck enjoyed hunting, country music, dancing, singing terribly, chewing, and spending time with his family; especially wrestling with his kids.  He was a great basketball and softball player.  He was an avid Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan.

Surviving are his wife, Joani Higgins, children, Trista, Cameron, Doreace, Skylar, and Grayson; brothers, SGT Scott Higgins and Michael Higgins; sisters, Jeanette Higgins and Sabrina Higgins; an aunt, Jackie (David) Hale Beam; an uncle, Bob (Bonnie) Hale; his close cousin, Jack (Tammy Nani) Pangrazio.  1LT Erin Morris, a close family friend and companion also survives along with several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Dennis M. Moden of Basom, went home to Heaven surrounded by his family on June 20, 2017 at Unity Hospital in Rochester.
Mr. Moden was born in Lockport, February 12, 1945, a son of the late George C. and Edith M. (Knickerbocker) Moden. A graduate of Medina High School, Class of 1963, he married the former Kimberly J. Peck on September 6, 1980. He was employed by Perry’s Ice Cream as a truck driver for over twenty years, and retired in 2007. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and golfing and was the happiest when spending time with his children and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed restoring a 1979 Camaro with his son, Matt.
Survivors include his wife, Kimberly; daughter, Kelly (Andrew) Merkel and son, Matthew (Jennifer) Moden; his beloved grandchildren, Kaylee and Kaiya Merkel; 2 sisters, Linda (late Bruce) Blanc and Gail (Bill) Piskorowski; his brother, Jeff (Lynda) Moden; his mother-in-law, Kathalyn (late Harry) Peck; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Celebration of Life service on Saturday at 10AM at Alabama Full Gospel Fellowship, 5329 South Gravel Road, Medina. Interment will be in Alabama Cemetery.

Mrs. Salisbury was born February 6, 1920 in Churchville, a daughter of the late Alexander and Isabel (Gibson) Steedman.

Mildred attended Roberts Beauty School, graduating in July 1939.  After which she owned Mildred’s Beauty Shop in Bergen for many years.  She retired at the age of 92, after 70 years as a hairdresser.  Upon which, the rolls changed: her daughter began to do Mildred’s hair every week.  She was the oldest living member of the Hesperus Chapter #823 Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Bergen Evangelical Presbyterian Church. 

She was a resident of Sunset Beach, Waterport for 68 years.  Mildred loved to work in her flower beds and truly enjoyed her grandkids, and devoted daughter. 

Mrs. Salisbury is the wife of the late Milton Salisbury, who passed away in 1997.

Surviving is her daughter, Jane Oshea-Slack of Bergen; and two grandsons, Charles (fiancé Riley Wathen) Slack of San Francisco, CA, and Michael Slack of Bergen.

Mildred is preceded in death by a son, Charles Salisbury; a sister, Gertrude (late George) Denneville, and sons-in-law, Phil Oshea, and Michael P. Slack.

Annette was a 1978 graduate of Letchworth Central High School. She was a dialysis secretary for Noyes Memorial Hospital (Dialysis Center) in Geneseo. She was a volunteer for many years for Special Olympics. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening, doing jigsaw puzzles and spending time with family. She enjoyed life and was the center of attention at any function.

She is survived by her husband Kevin M. Cwiklinski whom she married in 1995; 2 daughters Erika Lorenz of Castile and Valerie (Timothy) Miller of Castile; a son Keith Gierke Jr. of Corfu; 2 sisters Theresa Damonti of Erie, PA., Gina Wetmore of Pike; 2 brothers Lance Wetmore of Perry and Mark Wetmore of Sharon, PA.; 3 grandchildren Alyssa Fox, Bryce Lorenz and Ayden Miller, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Brad was a 1982 graduate of Coco High School in Coco, Florida. He was a self employed carpenter. Brad was a member of the Western New York Gas and Steam Engine Association, Niagara Trail Riders, Silver Lake Historical Preservation Society, Silver Lake Institute where he was a trustee and Silver Lake Pioneer Association. He enjoyed doing carpentry, mechanic, and welding work. Brad also enjoyed restoring vintage motorcycles as well as any type of antique engine. If something was broke Brad enjoyed the challenge to get it working. He volunteered for over 20 years at the Wyoming County Fair in their historical exhibits. He enjoyed riding his motor bike where he would race at Pavilion Motorcross.

He is survived by his wife: Lisa (Shepherd) Hennig whom he married on November 19, 1994, his children: Evan and Evelyn Hennig at home, his mother and father-in-law: Clifton (Lorna) Shepherd of Dansville, 3 sisters: Kay (Ronald) Harmon of South Byron and Silver Lake, Lynn (Craig) Bateman of Silver Lake and Kathie( Daniel) Moyles of Charlotte, NC, a brother: Leigh (Dawn) Hennig of Seattle, WA, a sister-in-law: Melissa (Sheldon) Omans of Dansville along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was born February 16, 1952 in Perry, NY, a son of the late Marion and Alfreda Plaza Rowinski.

Mark enjoyed model trains and accumulated a large collection of trains over his lifetime. He was an avid fan of the Batavia Muckdogs, attending home games regularly and was a strong supporter of the Buffalo Bills, Bisons and Sabres.  He was a member of Ascension Parish in Batavia. Mark will be missed by all who knew him and the friendships he gained over the years.

He is survived by his cousin, Thomas Plaza of Sioux City, Iowa and several friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday (June 21^st) from 4-6pm at the J. LEONARD MCANDREW FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2 Bogue Ave., Batavia. His Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, 11:00am at Ascension Parish (corner of Swan and Sumner Streets). Interment will follow next to his parents in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Loretta was a 1940 graduate of Alexander High School and editor of the school’s first yearbook.  She graduated from Rochester Business Institute with a business/secretarial degree.  She retired from NYS Office of Real Property Tax Services in 1991 and was an Avon Representative for 50 years, starting in1967.   Loretta was an active member of Ss. Joachim and Anne Parish, Attica, NY, in the past serving as an officer in the Altar & Rosary Society, Bishop’s Committee to aid new mothers, funeral luncheon committee, and library volunteer and Home School Association member at GWCCS Catholic School.  She was awarded “Fan of the Year” at Alexander Central School in 2005 for her support and attendance at her granddaughters’ sports events and was also active in the Red Hats Express. Loretta had a wonderful sense of humor throughout her life.  She loved music, books, and writing, but her biggest joy came from being with her family. 

She will be greatly missed by her children, Veronica (Robert) Frost, Catherine (George) Uhly, and Thomas Schum, granddaughters Katrina Uhly (husband Christian), Laura Uhly (fiancé John Swinton), and Diana Uhly (fiancé Brett Shirley), great-granddaughter Evelyne, sister-in-law Margaret Schum, and many nieces and nephews.  She was the sister of the late Kenneth (Eva) Kriger, Dorothy (Floyd) Welker, Veronica Kriger, and Francis (Marjorie) Kriger.

Kathleen graduated from Attica High School class of 1949 and attended Rochester Business Institute. She worked in the Attica Village Office for 40 years, 30 of which she was Village Clerk. She was a lifetime member of Sts. Joachim & Anne Parish in Attica.

She is survived by her sister Maureen M. (Robert) Kirby of Attica; three nephews Gregory R. of Mr. Laurel, NJ; Stephen G. of Buffalo and Brian (Lori) Kirby of Orchard Park, along with their families.

Steven D. Pierson, age 62, of Perry, New York, passed away peacefully on Friday June 16, 2017 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester with his family by his side. He was born in Warsaw, New York on July 13, 1954 a son to Gladys (Brown) Pierson of Perry and the late Gordon Pierson. Along with his father he is preceded in death by 2 brothers James and Thomas Pierson and brother-in-law: Todd Mazzarella

Steve was a 1972 graduate of Perry Central High School. He was a self employed crop farmer who loved to work. He was a great teacher whether it was about farming or his Bible based hope.

He is survived by his wife; Terry (Mazzarella) Pierson whom he married on October 20, 1973;  3 daughters  Amy (Todd) Wheaton of Penfield, Jessica (David) Johnson of Baldwinsville, Leslie (Max) Norman of Leicester; a son Seth Pierson of Lima; 10 grandchildren Connery, Jonathon, Jacob, Brandyn, Maryssa, Collin, Riley, Gage ”Bob”, Nicholas and Nolan; his mother Gladys Pierson of Perry; sister Jeanine Pierson of Warsaw; sisters-in-law Tracy (Mark) Calvert of Florida, Tina(David) Kramell of Wyoming, Lucy Pierson of Perry; brother-in-law Tammy Mazzarella of Florida, along with several nieces and nephews.
