Teens are said to have taken gun from parked vehicle

By Billie Owens

Some teenagers reportedly took a gun, a "38 Special," out of a vehicle in the parking lot by the Verizon Store in the Tops plaza, according to a caller to dispatch, and another caller reports that man in a blue truck in the parking lot of Batavia Downs is striking someone and yelling about them taking a weapon out of a vehicle. Law enforcement is trying to sort it out now.

That's the silliest thing I've heard today, Ray. Sometimes there's no choice but to leave the gun in the car. How about you stop blaming the victim for the crime?

"If that woman didn't have nice boobs, an awesome derriere and didn't dress so sexy, she wouldn't have gotten raped!" <---- Is that the logic you use?

Second that. Im not going to go about my life, thinking, oh i better not leave MY property inside my vehicle because someone might steal it...regardless of the item. Lets just keep it the way it is, If you steal something, you better be looking over your shoulder. honest people should not be the ones having to look over their shoulder. I hope the guy in the blue truck worked that thief over good before the police arrived. Assuming thats what happened.

To add to the sentiments of Doug and Christopher, I to agree that people need to stop blaming victims, they do enough of that for themselves. As to further expanding on the idea that Christopher mentioned, I to hope that the guy who took got worked over good if that is indeed what happened. There was a time that theieves had to sneak around and commit their crimes in secret for FEAR of getting caught or worse. Seems that thieves get off lightly nowadays, read any news and see the looooong records of people who steal, check their facebook (nods to Doug on that) and see the whole culture and attitude of these habitual thieves. There is no real consequence anymore. If a thief is caught and someone whups the tar outta them they get more judicial punishment then the thief and then the thief sues them as well. Our priorities are really screwed, those that know better get a free pass from our cour/criminal system while those that are of impeccable reputation or have a clean slate are dragged through hell a d the system makes "examples" of them because they should have known better.....

Vigilante justice isnt something to advocate but in some cases its the only way to to put fear back in the hearts of those who feel they can take whatever they want. Our criminal justice system surely doesnt do it.

Kyle, Judge Noonan probably printed out and framed this news report. He refuses to issue any concealed carry permits for self defense. He'll only sign them for hunting/target shooting. It'll hang in his chambers like his poster boy.

I'm glad my permit is issued in Monroe county and that I can carry concealed and have been able to since May of 1989.
