Mancuso home movies: Pre-war Batavia

By Howard B. Owens

I stumbled across this video on YouTube -- it appears to be old home movies, showing mostly their business ventures, from the Mancuso Family.  It appears to be all shot pre-war, 1941.

I really enjoyed watching this. I guess back in those days people bowled with dress shirts and ties. I heard stories about "ball boys" but it was cool to see his leg going up and down behind the pins. I also loved those old cars !

What an awesome find Howard. Thanks for posting. It made me think of my parents a lot. Im 44 and the youngest of 8. Jolting Joe was in the midst of his 56 game hitting streak. (A record that in my opinion that will never be broken.) Soon my mom would go to work for Curtis Wright in Buffalo to make C-47's. Soon my Dad would be sent to Germany. We all wore shirts, ties and dresses we all smoked. Now most of us are getting healthier but most of us dress like slobs. I had to put the '40s on 4 on my XM radio,,,, And soon we would loose Glenn Miller in the English Channel. Its funny how I get nostalgic about a time period 20 years before I was around.
