I think it is time we split from NY City and Long Island. There are slightly more than 8 million people in the NYC area and only 11 Million in the whole rest of the state. Why should we pay for the large population that exists around the city. All the city does is drive up the taxes for the rest of us. If we split the state we could exist quite nicely and all of our costs, taxes and fees would drop dramatically. We would be able to support ourselves without a huge deficit and probably have a balanced budget that came in on time. It probably would never happen though, because they probably couldn't support themselves. I say too bad! We have more and more people and industry leaving this state every day because they can't afford to live here anymore.
I believe when all is said and done hopefully we will have a decent ambulance service that we can live with,HOWEVER I don't think it will be on a level with the current service we have all come to know, love and depend on.
The service we have now knows the people,the area,the hospital and Doctors they serve and I believe that is going to be the big difference.
Any service can come in and perform adequately but our service also Cares.
